Phenomenal bakery and coffee shop, amazing options - Edit
Rise Baking Co offers a huge variety of vegan sweets, including cakes, cupcakes, donuts, scones, and more, with a rotating menu every day. Their daily menu offerings are posted in Instagram in the morning.
Read morePrices are super reasonable, given the fact that all items are vegan, and gluten and soy free.
A relaxing atmosphere with a very aesthetic interior. Great for studying or working.
Parking is a bit difficult, with only a few spots out front. I wasn’t familiar with the area, but I’m sure if you are there is more parking available nearby.
Pros: 100% vegan! , Friendly staff , Atmosphere

One of our favorite bakeries! - Edit
From the brunch food to the baked goods, everything is vegan and so good! My wife and I will often stop here to make sure we are stocked up on desserts for the week. They also occasionally have events with specially made meals.

3.5 Stars - Edit
I had this when they were first starting out and would love to try again since they have a brick and mortar location. It was pretty good as far as vegan and gluten free baking goes but I'm sure they've since improved. I love how the store design looks on instagram.

A True Gem! - Edit
We ate breakfast at this incredible cafe when in town overnight for a funeral. I am so grateful that this bakery/cafe is both vegan and gluten-free. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff is attentive, and the food is DELICIOUS! The next time we are in town, we will DEFINITELY eat here.
Read moreBe sure to call the bakery for hours, menu changes, etc. as they are going through a bit of a transition right now. They are only serving cafe foods on the weekends right now. This may change over time, but their website has not been updated to reflect these changes.
*I met one of the owners briefly. Super friendly.

I love this little bakery. So many choices and all are vegan, gluten free, soy free. You can do special orders for breads and cakes too. They post what the changing menu is on the instagram every day. Love the oatmeal cream pies and buckeyes. You can also find many of their baked goods at local markets and coffee shops.

So many cute creations that are always changing! Love to stop by and pick up treats. I did their one-time brunch in the fall as well which was fun to sit outside and enjoy some breakfast and coffee.

One of THE best vegan bakeries!! - Edit
Probably one of THE best bakeries I've ever been to in the country!! Vegan, gluten freeze and soy free, are you kidding me?! I am traveling for work and will be returning every day until I leave. Today I had the strawberry cinnamon roll and it did not disappoint!! I wish I had saved it to heat up at home, but it was gone in no time. I got an everything bagel and buckeye (chocolate covered peanut butter ball) to go, and both have been delectable as well. I can't wait to try more in the next couple days. The staff was upbeat and the place definitely had rush hour waves. Happy to see others also enjoy it there!

Every time's a good time - Edit
Tons of options, creative seasonal flavors, friendly staff. Step out of your comfort zone to try something new and you'll be pleasantly surprised😄get there early to beat the crowds, and be prepared to wait in line. It's worth it! Love having an option to grab a quality coffee and a fresh hearty breakfast as well as a snack or two for later all at once!

great atmosphere, delicious food - Edit
love love love! the atmosphere is so nice, i would definitely do work here, spend the day! it's very cute and welcoming. and the food! yum!! i got a pecan sticky bun, a choc peanut butter donut, two apple fritters, an empanada, an avo toast, and a couple other pastries. spent about $40. all in all, i would say reasonably priced for all vegan, all gluten free pastries! and everything was so so tasty! i will be back many many times!

Would rate higher than 5 if I could - Edit
Okay so I spent a lot of money here - it is a little expensive. But for $30 I got two coffees, 2 buckeyes, a poptart, an apple fritter and a pumpkin cinnamon roll. Every single thing was absolutely amazing, we meant to spread them out over two days but ate them all within the space of a few hours. The cafe is cute as heck and the staff are all really kind - complimented my outfit and my partner and I together (so seem to be LGBT friendly!).

Amazing Vegan Bakery - Edit
I came here while on vacation, and had to come back the food was so good! I first got the BLT. I haven’t had one since before I went vegan, and it was so satisfying being able to have one one again! The bacon was to die for!! I also had the breakfast sandwich that had the same bacon and I have no words. This bakery was phenomenal! Definitely can’t wait to come back.

Good Option in Grand Rapids - Edit
I'd give 3.5/5 if possible. It might be that I'm too spoiled by all the vegan bakeries in Chicago, or maybe I just really need gluten in my baked goods. Tried the hand pies, muffin, cupcake, and cinnamon roll in a dessert-filled pit stop and found the flavors pretty good! Everything was so dry, though, made it tough to really love any of the goods.
Read moreThat said, who knows? Maybe the stuff I got at the end of the day was dried out, maybe it was an off day. I'll certainly try it again the next time I'm in Grand Rapids, but I'll probably be pulling the emphasis from sweets to their meals.
Pros: All vegan!, Nice store, Good location
Cons: Dry baked goods

I'm a vegan who loves gluten, so I was concerned about Rise being a vegan and guten free place. I was VERY pleasantly surprised! The poptart- looking treats were OUTSTANDING. and the donuts and quiche were very tasty!

Wonderful V and Gf baked goods - Edit
Everything they make is V and Gf. They deliver to a lot of different places in Grand Rapids. You can go on their website for a list of the locations where they deliver daily. They have tons of different vegan and Gf baked goods. Their doughnuts are delicious, and they are always coming out with new flavors. The largest selection of their goods that I have found are at the Bridge Street Market.
