Great Zero Waste Store

This is a great store with some reasonable prices. It is well presented. Love the idea that people can bring spare empty jars to leave in store for others to use for free. Sophie the owner puts her heart in looking for bulk purchase to reduce the packaging as far as possible. The store is also a non-profit. I found out a friend of mine just volunteered there to help them out.

I brought my own jars that used to be old peanut butter or sauce jars. I weighted them on the shops scale and stuck the printed label. I then filled each jar with butter beans, aduki beans, black turtle beans and black wild rice which all happen to be organic. Though not everything in store is organic. When I went to the till the label is scanned to remove the weight of the jar and reweighted to price the contents only. It was pretty cool.

I saw this wonderful peanut butter machine which dispenses fresh peanut butter made from just roasted peanuts no added oil. The peanut butter was delicious but I did feel that almost £1/100g was a bit pricy.

Sophie is looking for bulk gluten free pasta that comes in large packaging. Hopefully she finds it soon.

Most of the items in store are suitable for vegans and Sophie can guide you too. The items I noticed non vegan were some candels made from beeswax and yogurt coated nuts.

I loved that they had Raw Chocolate Co's organic chocolate coated almonds. She also has my favourite vanofee chocolate coated cashews in the back still to shelf due to space.

I absolutely love this place and is a dream for zero waste lovers.

Pros: Zero waste & Well presented, Alot of vegan items, Some reasonable prices

Cons: Has some non-Vegan items: beeswax/yogurt
