Hidden gem in Manizales centro - Edit

Good food, only luch set meal for 8500 COP with soup, main dish, postre and a choice of juice or soy milk. Excellent choice in central Manizales, very friendly owners, a bit crowded but seating readly available. No sign in front, just open the blue gate and enter, on number 24-31.

Pros: Vegetables, Friendly atmosphere, Cheap

Cons: Set meal no choice

Homecooked fare behind the blue gate. - Edit

I'd eaten at a Govindas in the last two Colombian cities I visited so was happy to try something new! The weather was rainy so it was a bit chilly in the courtyard. You don't get a menu here or told what they have, the owner just walks around to the tables, counts the number of diners and relays that info back to the kitchen. I explained I was vegan and he understood so switched the mashed potatoes for rice for me. This was served with some seasoned tofu and a dish that tasted a lot like tuna, to the point that I could only gingerly poke around it, but I was eventually assured it wasn't. A large bowl of soup, simple salad, glass of soy milk and cup of tea were also included. Food was ok, nothing special, but was happy to find a vegan option in the centre.

Price was 8000 pesos.

Pros: Understand vegan, Cheap, Cozy

Cons: unexciting

very nice location with tastyand cheap food - Edit

Amazing Restaurant with very tasty food. There is no sign so you have to look out for a big blue gate. Only open for lunch. There is only one lunch menu a day with soup, main dish sweets and a glas o fresh juice or soy milk. After the lunch you get also a cup of tea. Very cheap, about 7000 COP (approx. USD 2.50) you don‘t have to reserve, we went there without a reservation. But it‘s very popular so it could be that it‘s full.

Hidden Courtyard Restaurant - Edit

Ricuras is difficult to find and sometimes requires booking - but a nice, garden courtyard setting in the city. There's no sign, but ask around - it's behind a big gate and down a driveway. The food was tasty and cheap, and there's a little vege shop too.

Pros: Cheap, Courtyard

Cons: Hard To Find
