Delicious, must go

This place needs 10 stars. The owner came over to talk to us about the vegan options and said “pick a dish I can probably make it vegan”. She did not disappoint, the panang curry is amazing. Got one all veggie and one tofu and this is our new favorite dish. So delicious, also loved the spring rolls ! Such a great family owned restaurant with lots of vegan options. Don’t miss this one!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Large portions, great prices , Delicious panang curry!

Cons: Not open 24/7

Great Vegan/Vegetarian Options BUT

The food quality is very good. No complaints about quality and taste. HOWEVER, when you read their menu and make a choice based on the label “tofu” MAKE SURE YOU SAY you’re vegan/vegetarian. My husband and I assumed that if you label it “ tofu” it means vegainzed or vegetarianized. Not true. My husband ordered Mapo tofu dish and it had pork in it. When speaking to the manager to switch the dishes, she conceded but emphasize ( it felt defensive to me) we should have let them know. While we explained the nature of having a “tofu labeled” dish on the menu, she was very disagreeable. In any case, she switched the dishes out and said we wouldn’t be charged for the mapo tofu pork dish. (Who does that?!!!🤔😩😠😪)

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Great taste

Cons: Menu needs more clarity , Pricing average to over priced

In defense of Rice Bistro, but also a bit of vegan education to prevent this for you in the future-- Mapo Tofu is a dish which is hundreds of years old, it is traditionally tofu with minced beef or pork- so although it is a tofu dish naturally, it is not vegetarian naturally.

Yum

Was able to order many dishes vegan and could swap for tofu or mixed veggies. The fried rice was super good which I haven’t had for over a year because of worry about egg.

Excellent option!

This is a wonderful restaurant with lots of options and a true willingness to make sure your meal is vegan! Alice is wonderful to help with take-our orders! We had a mistake happen (an error entering the food in the computer) and they fixed it and went above and beyond! Been back several times, and will keep going back! Yum!!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Variety of flavors and Asian influences, Dessert!

Yummy!

I have been craving good authentic Asian food and this place really hit the spot, they even have a specific authentic menu. Everything tasted so fresh and very good. I ordered the fried tofu with a side of veggies and the summer spring rolls. The summer spring rolls were delicious. They had so many options and could basically make anything on their menu vegan! I would for sure come back here to try something new.

Pros: Variety , Authentic , Fresh

Cons: Serves meat and fish

Best Asian Cuisine Around

This place is a hidden gem! My wife is Chinese, and I have traveled and eaten all around Asia, so I know how Asian cuisine should be. I also know that a lot of authentic Asian cuisine does not appeal to the typical American palate, especially in the provincial Daytona Beach, Fl area. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that Rice Bistro has done a wonderful job of making delicious, fresh Asian cuisine from a variety of Asian cultures: Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, and Korean that will appeal to locals and Asians alike. They have a HUGE menu to select from, and I was told by one of the co-owners that almost everything on the menu can be made vegetarian or vegan.

Fist of all, the food itself is fresh, well prepared, not overcooked, with delicious flavors from the ingredients, not copious amounts of MSG that is often substituted for flavor in many Asian restaurants. They do use some MSG unless you ask otherwise, which we did. I didn't find the flavor lacking at all without MSG; the chef obviously knows what he/she is doing. I had a table of 4 people with some to go items and everyone commented at how good their food tasted. There is a plethora of other Asian restaurants in the area, one just a few doors down from Rice Bistro, and all of the ones I have eaten at are the typical overcooked, bland, processed, Americanized, cheap slop. While Rice Bistro's main menu is somewhat Americanized (and delicious), they also have an authentic menu in Chinese & English for anyone wanting real authentic Asian cuisine, much to the delight of my wife.

Portions on the dinner menu are very big. I can eat a lot, and I got the dinner portions of Pad Thai (noodles)and Tom Yum Goong (soup) for lunch. Delicious, and it was way more than I could eat. They have a large $9 lunch menu, but I haven't tried that yet. They have bottled water so you're not stuck with tap water as in some other local restaurants.

Service was excellent. One of the co-owners waited on my table and she was very helpful & friendly; service was fast. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

Unlike a lot of other small local cafes, Rice Bistro has a very pleasant, clean, uplifting atmosphere inside and out. It's in a nice, new shopping center with nice landscaping, and the inside is nicely decorated and well lit, a detail that many local cafes miss. Some of the other local Asian cafes, aside from having mediocre food, also have very boring antiseptic strip mall atmospheres.

Pros: Great Fresh Food & Pleasant Atmosphere, Excellent Service and Prices, Authentic Menu Available

Cons: None I can think of.
