Small, local menu with vegan options

We cottage about 10 minutes north of this restaurant so we were so happy to discover that they had vegan options. We’ve been quite a few times and have been pretty happy each time. The menu is small but still has about 3 vegan mains. (One is always the Impossible Burger, one is a pasta and then another different choice which varies by season/year). The owner is vegan and so are many of the staff so they are great with answering questions. Only thing I had difficulty with was finding a vegan wine by the glass. Bottles of wine were quite pricey.

They have a little shop beside the bar for take out. They have the most decadent focaccia and sourdough bread that I often swing by to pick up to enjoy at dinner at the cottage. It sometimes doesn’t make it to the cottage it’s that good!!

Bonus is that one of the staff (Alexis)who is vegan and owns a local vegan establishment (Nourished by Raisin the Root) hosts Monday Night Takeovers here with a fully vegan menu. Love that the owners of Rhubarb allow her to do this.

Pros: Vegan appetizer, main and dessert options , Many staff are vegan themselves , Has a small take out area with vegan options too

Cons: Pricey, Lots of flavour infusions so not great for kids
