Vegan breakfast: expensive, uninspired - Edit
Went there for a birthday brunch today. Friendly but slow and slightly forgetful service, and the place can get pretty noisy.
Read moreAt around eleven am, the only vegan option was from the breakfast menu: a dish called Senkrechtstarter at a whopping 12.90 €: one roll, two slices of wholemeal bread, some oatmeal porridge (far too sweet and with cinnamon, which the menu didn't mention and not everyone likes), a fruit salad, some store-bought apricot jam and guacamole (also store-bought, even though the menu mentions a homemade vegan dip) plus a disproportionately large serving of margarine, and some fruit garnish. No veggies, nothing else to put on the bread (other than copious amounts of margarine).
Unfortunately, the vegan options seem to be nothing more than an (expensive) afterthought, and not a very considerate one at that: far too sweet, not enough toppings by any measure, especially not at that price. Cute presentation but it's just neither homemade (as the menu would suggest) nor very tasty, which is a pity.

Kleine Auswahl, nettes Setting - Edit
Ich war jetzt schon das zweite Mal hierbei meinem jährlichen Weihnachtstreffen mit einer Freundin. Das Café hat immer mindestens eine vegane süße und herzhafte Auswahl und Kaffee mit Hafermilch. Die Location ist auch recht gut, und es hat lange genug offen, um auch in den Abend rein dort zu sitzen. Abends ist es manchmal voll, aber man kann online reservieren.

Schön ist, dass es überhaupt einige vegane Optionen gibt (süß und herzhaft) sowie Hafer-/Sojamilch für Heißgetränke (gegen Aufpreis), allerdings sind dies wirklich nicht viele. Schade ist auch, dass es zwar vegane und glutenfreie Optionen gibt, aber nicht in Kombination ...

Friendly café with only a small vegan selection - Edit
We went here in the noon for a piece of cake and a Cappuccino.

On the menu there was also a vegan breakfast some basic vegan meals. Coffee can be served with oat or soymilk for 40 cent fee.
Some tables outside, nicely located. Staff was very friendly, but also a bit overwhelmed that day (lots of people there). Cake coffee tasted delicious.

Einladendes Ambiente - Edit
Das Café ist nah am Rhein, also perfekt zum Einkehren nach einem Spaziergang am Mülheimer Hafen. Es gibt ein süßes und herzhaftes Angebot - die veganen Gerichte sind überschaubar, aber vorhanden. Hafermilch gibt es für die warmen Getränke.
