Good veggie food in Cartagena - Edit
Considering the convenient location in historic downtown and the current price of 12.900 pesos and the quality and presentation of food, I would give them 4 cows. I ate there 2 days in a row, and both times the food was very good. The meal consisted of a bowl of soup, the main plate with 5-6 items, and a juice drink. The food is a little basic, but good.

Simple food. No English at all! - Edit
The menu was in Spanish and nobody could translate anything for us. The food we were given was a soup which was creamy -no idea what it was. There was also a coleslaw type vegetable, carrots, brown rice and sliced Seurat sausage. There was very nice zucchini chocolate cake.

Cons: No English at all. We had no idea what we had.

I'm not sure if this is a new development since your August 2018 review, but they have an English menu (at least for breakfast), which is on the reverse of the Spanish menu.

Cheap and vegan - Edit
Cheap-ish for Colombia, 12.9k pesos day's menu with soup, 2nd and a small juice, all vegan. They serve the juice in paper cups, boooo! Locals eat here, that is always a good sign. Upstairs is cooler than at the ground floor. Had a vegan brownie for 3.5k, was good too. They have falafel at 1k each. But vegan pizza is both not fantastic and way too expensive at 6.5k a slice.

Cons: paid 19.5k for 3 slices of pizza like an [censored

Disappointing - Edit
At first glance all looked great. I said I was vegan and didn't eat oil. Soup came with cheese in. Main course, rather small for someone who had missed out on the soup was loaded with oil.

Terrible service and food - Edit
We were given a menu without much of a welcome. We were told there were two choices by one server then another server came and told us there was one choice. We ordered the one choice of mail and we’re not offered to drink. The milk came and it was fried mushrooms and vegetables in vinegar and some kind of gluten-free pita bread type thing (arepa perhaps) It wasn’t very nice and there wasn’t much food on the plate while we could see into the kitchen lots of staff making their own lunches for the delicious looking food. It took a while to get the bill and the bill wasn’t cheap as I had expected. And the server actually laughed at us as we paid. We don’t know why. We won’t return to this place and will definitely not recommend it to anyone. It was very disappointing for such a long established vegetarian restaurant with such high hopes from the reviews on this website.

Cosy friendly vegetarian restaurant - Edit
A solid 4 stars with filling tasty food and swift friendly service. The restaurant is very popular with locals. I had the set menu for 13,500 which included a berry drink, soup and main meal (rice, veg and tofu in sauce). The smoothie and soup were very tasty. I left feeling satisfied! I would award 5 stars if the restaurant could provide some written information about the ingredients. The shop looks great for nuts, vegan ingredients and environmentally friendly cosmetics.

We came here two times to had vegan lunch menu and both times it was very tasty. We had different kinds of desserts and liked them. The cakes and the bread are a bit dry. The empanadas are very good. We also some articles from the shop such as tofu, sun cream, deodorant. Very good quality!

Solid, homestyle vegan cooking. - Edit
We ate here three different times. All were excellent. The juice was fresh and without added sugar. The staff were very friendly. It wasn't cheap, but it's a small business putting together meals with hard-to-find ingredients such as seitan and tofu. Check it out.

We had the lunch menu (take away - a little bit more expensive than if you eat on site which is 12900). That included a soup, brown rice, vegetables, chickpea loaf (delicious) and a cabbage salad. Also a avena drink. Portions are big and it's tasty.

Set vegan menu - Edit
A good choice in Cartagena...which is not known for many vegan choices. It's a little health food store with lots of dried herbs for sale. The set dinner was simple and tasty and cost 18k including a lulo juice.... Nothing to rave or complain about here....Brown rice, sauteed cabbage and a chickpea loaf. The chocolate cake was ok...not amazing but vegan. Not sure what was in it and I wouldn't necessarily want it again....but I left satisfied and felt nourished :)

Good option in Cartagena for their menu - Edit
Cartagena has very few vegan places, if at all any real vegan ones. Girasoles is the only place with a real vegan menu for an absolutely fair price of 10-15k COL considering the otherwise high price restaurant szene in the city. It depends on the day and what's on offer if the menu is enough to not still be hungry afterwards. I had great menues in there but also very small ones which left me hungry. Considering the non existing choices in Cartagena Girasoles is a good option.

La opción de desayuno que pedí estaba muy rico; papaya, avena, arepa de arroz, tofu por 8.500 Me hubiera gustado un poco mas de fruta para el desayuno. 🙂🙂

Love Girasoles - Edit
I have now been here twice and both times I was very happy with the food. For lunch it was only $10,000mil (about $3USD) and dinner was $15,000mil. Cartagena is fairly pricy and $15mil for a dinner is on the cheaper side. It included a juice, soup, and main course. I forced my non-vegan friend to join both times (he is extremely picky) and he was satisfied and impressed both times. I highly recommend. I saw some other reviews knocking it for only having one option a day. But I appreciate the concept as it avoids excess waste and is always a pleasant surprise :)

Should've listened to the last reviewer - Edit
The daily menu served here costs 15000 COP (approx. 5 USD). For that I got a fresh juice and a main plate 1/2 with salad and 1/2 with a mix of spinach and potatoes. This is seriously expensive for such a tiny daily menu. The food tastes ok, but is nothing fancy to justify the price.
Read moreI was hungry again after an hour, which says something about the unfulfilling portions.
I also got some emapanadas to-go (2500 COP each), which were decent.

$$ - Edit
My girlfriend and I went to eat dinner at this restaurant. Arriving we noticed that the menu price has gone up to 15,000 pesos, though Lonely Planet states 7,000 and one of the latest reviews on Happy Cow 10,000. Nevertheless, we ordered the menu del dia. We got a fresh fruit juice and a main dish consisting of a serving of coconut rice, fresh salad and vegetarian meat. The portion was small and not enough to get full, so I ordered a slice of vegan pizza for additional 5,000 pesos. Even though the food was really tasty, we were quite disappointed with our experience as we expected a complete menu with soup, main dish, juice, and maybe desert for a smaller price.

Awesome for vegan eating in Cartagena - Edit
I was initially going to Santuario Del Yoga but they stop serving at 12... So they guided me to this gem and it didn't disappoint. I went with my non-vegan friend and even he agreed that it was one of the best meals he's had in Cartagena. We weren't really given a menu which was weird but the food was still surprisingly great and I made sure that it was Vegan not Vegetarian. So no milk, eggs, cream, butter, the waitress assured me. To top it all off it was by far the cheapest meal I've had in Cartagena at 10,000 Colombian pesos which is just a few cents over $3. The meal consisted of some kind of mango/orange juice, what I believe to be a butternut squash soup, brown rice, their spin on a falafel, warm eggplant salad and this pie-like thing haha. Loved every bit of it though.

Inexpensive and delicious! - Edit
This place is great, they offer daily menus of healthy and delicious vegan food! The prices are very reasonable for the portion you get and the vibe is great. It's also possible to get some snacks, cakes and pasteles after the meal. For a dish consisting of pea soup, rice, green beans, soy meat, salad and guava juice we paid only $10 000 COP or around $3!

Great lunch spot! Lots of locals! - Edit
Really cool spot. We went for lunch and dinner on different days. The lunch was much tastier than it looked. One might do well to remember that local food in this region isn't wild with flavor. Dishes are often quite basic. I was happy enough that the set plates were vegan both times we went.
