Very tasty food in a nice atmosphere

You have to knock at the door and wait to get in the beautiful patio of the family home.
The owner is very friendly and happy to chat ( arabic and french). The food is very delicious and fresh, made by the owners wife.
We had the couscous and eggplant dish, with a big bottle of water for 110 dhiram.
Would definitely recommend this place.

Very good & very cozy!

Serves meat, very tasty vegan and vegetarian options available. The owner is super nice and helpful with explaining and choosing the dishes, knows the difference between vegetarian & vegan, also he gives a lot of helpful tips about the city & surroundings & possible excursions when asked. Everything is fresh & homemade and the atmosphere is absolutely lovely. You are sitting in the patio of the owners family home, his wife cooks. 10/10 would recommend!

Upon arrival the door will most likely be closed and you will have to knock (loudly) and wait. The closed door ensures the cooler temperatures in the patio, that are adding to the nice atmosphere.

Pros: vegan options, lovely atmosphere, nice owner

Taktoka #1 on Earth

Lovely setting at Home. All done with much love by a Great Family. Taktoka was crazy amazing! Quality bread and local olives! Zaalouk was little burnt at the bottom, but never mind, hope to be back soon! Come along! :)

Safe and delicious

Nice atmosphere, and very kind owner.

I ordered two servings of chickpeas and one of an aubergine tomato tapa. I combined all dishes and the taste was great.

Owner was familiar with vegetarianism and veganism.

Pros: Owner, 100% vegan

Cons: few options

An excellent (and rare) option of meat-free dining in Meknes!

The owner of the restaurant, while speaking no English (only French and Arabic), went out of his way to welcome us and assure that we could find meat-free options in his restaurant. We ordered the combination of three tagine dishes (a green bean and garlic dish, an smoked eggplant/aubergine dish and a brown lentil dish), together with a mixed vegetable tagine - all of which came piping hot, wonderfully spiced and gluten-free. The harira soup (not GF) was also delicious, and the price-tag at the end of the meal was very reasonable. We went to both Happy Cow listed restuarants in Meknes, and this certainly won our vote for most original and greatest variety for plant-based eating, and we'd highly recommend it. Beautiful restuarant interior too - and be prepared to knock loudly on the door when you arrive and then patiently wait to be let in. It really feels like going to someone's home - and the cooking just reinforces the idea that home-cooked it the best. Delicious!

Pros: Freshly made home-cooked taste, Beautiful interior of the restuarant, Friendly owner understands vegan and gluten-free
