Wish Renegades would come back! - Edit
Used to love this place! A bit heavy but very good vegan food. Especially liked the Blazin’ Banh and Outlaw Bowl. The Mac “N” Cheese was good but not great.

Worth finding! - Edit
Like many of the businesses in Industry City, this eatery isn't so easy to find but their amazing creations make even a special trip worth it.

Fast lunch grub - Edit
Cute food stall in a larger market. The only all-vegan places there (though other stalls have vegan menu items) with a cool staff and good vibe. Food is kind of standard fast food fare, but well made. I had the pulled pork and it was enormous.

Oasis in a vegan food desert - Edit
One of my favorite lunch/sandwich spots in NYC. I particularly like the lack of Beyond/Impossible products on the menu. Banh mi is my favorite, but I have enjoyed everything I've had here. Staff is really nice.

Amazing cuban sandwich - Edit
I stopped by when I was in Industry City and got the cuban sandwich (which I think is only available on Fridays?). It was amazing! Huge sandwich, great flavor, lovely texture. Highly recommend it.

Superb Creative Food for Vegans and Carnivores Alike - Edit
The food at this stand in Industry City is scrumptious and the service matches the food. I'm not pavlov's dog, but when I think about heading over there for a meal, I salivate.
I haven't tried everything on the menu, but the cheesesteak, banhmi, burger, chicken sandwich and mac and cheese are all impossible to eat slowly. The food is just that good!!!
Pros: Delicious and creative food., Friendly helpful service., They make it all themselves!!!
Cons: Not open early enough!, Not open late enough!!

Great Food & Huge Portions - Edit
Industry city is a cool place to spend the day exploring and parking directly out front is only $1 an hour which is a steal. We stopped into Renegades of Sunset and got a Philly and Bahn Mi with a side of Mac and cheese both were gigantic and delicious. The prices were super reasonable and the service and quick and friendly. There’s lots of cool places to sit and hang out including indoor and outdoor seating. We would 100% come back again.

I had a delicious Chik’n sandwich today on a soft roll with tomatoe, sauce, onions and lettuce. It was excellent and the portion was large. I shared a mushroom barley soup with potatoes that was delicious. Would definitely return to this lovely vegan spot!

Great PB comfort food! - Edit
Counter service joint in a funky food hall... we had the amazing fried chicken sammie (a Wednesday special), a solid cheese steak, and good Mac and cheese. The best element was the subbed “Phatty Bacon” on the Mac and cheese... best vegan bacon I’ve ever had. They make everything from scratch, including seitans sauces and cheeses.

Chicken ranch is a must! - Edit
I've only visited once but OMG, that chicken ranch sandwich is crazy delicious! Now, I love pretty much anything in ranch sauce, but vegan ranch sauce can either be great or terrible... Renegades of Sunset's ranch is fabulous! Nice people and great food.

Good opening effort - nooch needs work! - Edit
First visit to this lunch counter/takeaway place in industry city. Promising and they do many things right, but the cheeze made with brewer’s yeast needs work... We had the philly cheeze steak, the banh mi and the mac and cheeze. Loved the baguette the sandwiches came on. This place just opened and we will be back, hoping in the meantime they tweak the cheeze sauce which was just overwhelmingly yeasty.

One of the best vegan experiences - Edit
My boyfriend read about the restaurant in The Gothamist and we trekked from Queens to visit on a Saturday evening. Firstly, the owners are extremely personable and passionate about what they do. They spoke to us while we ordered/ate and were so down to earth; just great people to be around. Everything except the breads are made in house and you can watch the chefs whip up the food right before you. The owners confirmed that they locally source the bread and most of their ingredients so sustainability is a top priority. They also knew the owners of the Kombucha we were drinking which shows their commitment to the vegan community. The restaurant is small but it is on the cozier end of the Industry City strip and the stools were comfy. They keep the place clean and organized. My boyfriend had the Sunset Cheezesteak and I had The Renegade burger. We sampled each other’s food (perks of dating a fellow vegan) and they were both delectable. We also shared the OutLaw Bowl and a side of fried plantains, both of which were perfection! Word to the wise: add the phatty bacon to everything (it’s seitan based and outstanding). The star sauce is the smokehouse aioli which is creamy, tangy and smoky; I wish they would bottle it so all vegans can buy it and put it on everything. The food is so well seasoned and rich without being greasy. The chocolate chip cookie is crunchy, salty and not overly sweet. I highly suggest enjoying it with coffee as you stroll around the neighborhood. Another pro: the prices are affordable! The owners confirmed that they will be adding specials to the menu soon. We were fortunate to sample one of the specials and boy, was it delicious. Unfortunately, they were out of the Mac N Cheeze but this just gives us more of reason to visit again.

I truly enjoyed my meal from here. I never heard of this place until yesterday and I’m so glad I went. I like when I can watch the food being prepared. The Caesar salad was fantastic, so flavorful. I enjoyed the cheezesteak as well. I definitely want to return and sample more of the menu.
