Vegan friendly and tasty- do eat here! - Edit
Awesome to see vegan options in a small town. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They have plenty of vegan food items as well as drinks. The place is really cute. Has classic tavern feel to it (also has a bar FYI). Bathrooms are clean which is a rarity around tourist heavy spots. Bonus points: you can see the lake and mountains in the background.
Read moreWe ordered their soup of the day (potato, leek and corn soup which is vegan), a vegan burger, a veg curry and their spring special which was a vegan stack of hash brown, eggplant, tomatoes, asparagus and crispy kale. All of them were amazing. So tasty. Highly recommend.

Surprisingly good - Edit
In Tekapo for birthday weekend away. Reflections had a choice of vegan options, very well prepared and presented. Spoke to staff member who had recently made switch to vegan diet.

Owful. There were no vegan options at all - Edit
Awful place for vegans. The whole place was "decorated" with cow skin and fur. It was disgusting. They had only one vegan plate - horrible tomato soup the tasted like sour canned tomatoes. Even the fries shared the oil with meat. Stay away. There is a lovely Chinese restaurant next door.

Very good vegan options - Edit
We were thrilled to walk into this restaurant after a long day of hiking to find so many vegan options. We started with the soup of the day, a delicious vegan chickpea and pumpkin soup. For dinner we had our choice of several options and went town the spicy red lentil burger and the lentil & grilled tofu, both of which were very good. The staff was well versed on vegan options and even offered us guacamole in place of butter for the bread that a accompanied the soup.

Delicious falafel burger - Edit
The falafel/lentil burger I had here was absolutely fantastic. There are very limited vegan options in the area, but I was very satisfied with this burger. Also, seats are pretty comfy.

Good Breakfast - Edit
I had a hot vegan breakfast of beans cooked in fresh tomatoes and carrots, grilled mushrooms, toast, and potato hash browns. Also an almond milk latte. Nice and filling after my morning hike up Mount John.

Delicious vegan breakfast special - Edit
What a great cafe friendly staff, warm and spacious interior with outstanding views of the mountains. Lots of cooked breakfast options including vegetarian and gluten free. We both chose the breakfast special I had the vegan option with caramelized brussel sprouts, red onions, sweet potato with walnuts and spinach topped with portobello mushrooms. Highly recommend this dish it was a delicious combination of taste and textures. Check out this cafe for a tasty relaxing start to your day. the chef is keen to add more vegan options if demand is there. Bonus of free WiFi.
