Coffee n cake - Edit
Nice non-chain place for coffee n cake. Soya options for coffees and splendid cake. Not many savoury options (esp not for vegans)

Best coffee-and-vegan-cake in Brighton - Edit
Easily the best coffee shop in Brighton. Great vegan cakes. In the gay village but very straight-friendly. Exhibits local artists.
Gaze up in awe at the amazing 'Hyperbolic Coffee Cactus' - a huge polyhedral sculpture made out of hundreds of coffee stirrers, painstakingly pinned together with cocktail sticks - hanging from the ceiling!
The system will only let me give them four stars because they also sell meat.

nigeltart 08 Dec 2016 - Recently closed, I think for a refurb. I've not had much luck recently on the vegan cake front, though.
