Not many vegan options anymore - Edit
This is one of my favourite pubs and I visit regularly. There's a good range for vegetarian customers, however, not much choice for vegans. Since the pandemic the Red Lion doesn't seem to offer as many vegan choices anymore.
Read moreStaff are friendly and it's a lovely venue. It's a nice place to go for a drink
Pros: Friendly staff, Dog friendly, Well decorated
Cons: Sometimes service is slow, Can be a bit expensive for the portion size, Need more vegan options

Wouldn’t recommend - Edit
Nice lentil lasagne. But the burger (beyond burger) was dried to a husk.
Read moreHardly any vegan options at all. We tried this place out because the previous reviewer suggested it was good so I’m leaving this review here to say it wasn’t worth it.
Expensive too - £13 for husk burger with chips and £12 lasagne with salad (which was old and bruised).

I loved the vegan menu here - Edit
I loved the vegan menu here— so many choices, for appetizers, main courses, sides, and even desserts! I had an out-of-the ordinary vegan burger (quinoa and chickpea, I think), with in-house tomato and pesto sauce. The salad that came with it included ocauliflower and cabbage and carrot— delicious. I also had a side dish of aubergine in a peppery tomato sauce. And there were five vegan desserts to choose from— unheard of where I live. I loved the option of having a mini portion of dessert with a hot drink. I had the pecan pie with espresso — just the right amount to end a great meal. The only thing the pub could do better is to offer non-dairy milk for the tea and coffee.
