Looks can be deceiving - Edit
We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! We couldn’t tell the vibes of the restaurant from the outside, but the the inside is very cute and quaint. We started out with the Veggie Skins. They are served with hummus. We thought they would be kind of bland, but they turned out to be very good!! The hummus was delicious. It was very garlicky, and thick but not too thick. I ordered the black bean burger without mango and added onion and tomato to it. It was a very dense burger. It tasted good, but I will definitely try something else next time. The potatoes served with it were great!! My boyfriend ordered the Vegan Jambalaya. They gave two hot sauces with it. He thought it was hot and hardy! Overall we enjoyed the experience and food and will probably go back again!

Top notch! Delicious!! - Edit
We had driven by there many times, were intrigued by the name, and never stopped. Last night we stopped, based on Happy Cow and we were thrilled. It was delicious. Authentic Caribbean cuisine. Lots of vegetarian choices and some vegan too. The plantains were delicious. The vegetarian black bean soup was wonderful. MY husband had the quesadilla which he loved. I had the pineapple boat, no pork, perfect jerk seasoning, . We will be back. sOON!

Good vegan food - Edit
This place has a great atmosphere and food. I ate a little lighter just getting the vegan potato skins and vegan Caribbean bean soup and both were very good/solid options. In the future I will probably be trying the vegan jambalaya

Killer Vegan Potato Skins! - Edit
I love Red Hook! It has a Caribbean vibe & so many vegan options! It’s in a strange industrial area, but once inside you don’t even think about it. It’s on the nicer side, good date spot, white table cloths, candles, etc. Everything I’ve tried has been awesome, the potato skins are my fav!

Anyone can eat here! - Edit
This would be a good location to take family or friends who are not vegan. There are a great number of vegan options available and labeled on the menu, but my favorites were the potato skins for an appetizer and a salad with tofu added.

vegan friendly - Edit
Although it is not a vegan or vegetarian restaurant, it's one of the few such restaurants where I don't feel like I'm getting cheated. The veggie skins are delicious and vegan by default (with daiya)! I'm a big fan of black beans & rice and wasn't disappointed with theirs. Service was great!
