Serves meat, vegan options available. A riverside fish and chip restaurant. Vegan items include vegan 'fish' and chips made from banana blossoms marinated in nori and dill, plant burger with Vegannaise and Violife cheese served with chips and lentil and chickpea curry. All are marked VG on the menu. Reported closed March 2022.

Excellent f**h and chips and glorious situation

The banana blossom vegan fish is great along with the chips, tartare and mushy peas. Off-menu vegan banana split as a dessert and good house Shiraz made for a superb evening out on the riverside - servers attentive without being intrusive. Will be returning!

(Warning: last food orders at 2045 when we went, although open until 2200)

Banana blossoms by the river

Popped by on my way home for takeaway 'fish' and chips - actually made from banana flowers! What looked initially like quite a small portion turned out to be filling and very tasty. The batter is seasoned with fresh dill (nom!) and everything was surprisingly non-greasy.

The restaurant is in a gorgeous location by the river in Ely, with picnic tables for outside dining as well as an inside space. You can sit outside and enjoy the scenery while they get your takeaway ready.

Extra points for offering gluten-free fish and chips (both eat in and takeaway).

Pros: Beautiful riverside location, Vegan/GF 'fish and chip' options, Tasty food!
