Excellent food and friendly staff - Edit
We find it difficult finding places on the hills which can cater for our dietary needs (vegan, no wheat) but this place has so many options! The food is the best I have had out in ages, there are HEAPS of vegan options and everything we had was fresh and tasty. The coffee is excellent too and the prices are reasonable by Melbourne standards. This is our go-to place when we want to eat out. What's more, there is seating out the front so we can take the dogs.
I would give them 5 stars but the system won't give me the option to go higher than 4 :( The menu only has 1 or 2 meat meals (at the end of a 2 page list of vegan/vegetarian options) so it is good to see them pushing the non meat agenda.

We enjoyed the food here. A bit overpriced for what you get. Service was pretty slow considering we were the only ones in there. The cakes were very good and we did enjoy our meals.

Great addition to the hills' - Edit
Every time I go into Real Food, the owner is so lovely and the vibe is awesome. They make really nice organic fair-trade coffee and they have a few different milk options to choose from (all organic and non-gmo!) The vegan lasagne is awesome and they even sell vegan icecream by the tub! Would definitely recommend :)

Missing the mark - Edit
After repeated visits and a promising new menu, this cafe fails to deliver time and again. On today's visit, customers were few and far between, yet it took over half an hour to receive our take-away meals. The burger was small and had no accompaniments eg chips and was priced at a hefty $16.50. The lasagne while more fairly priced at $13, was really just a few layers of lasagne sheets with pasta sauce and minimal vegetables. Coffee was below average and used non-premium soy milk, yet charged $1 extra. The new menu, contradicts itself repeatedly and needs proof-reading.

Around the bend... more miss, than hit - Edit
Have eaten here 4 or 5 times.
The first time was probably the best, the last couple of times have been far less than impressive
Long waits for overpriced & small servings of average food, from a clearly confused menu. The coffee is also very average.
Had hoped for improvement by now; always showed promise.
