Delicious - Edit

Lunch date with my wife. Lots of vegan options for us to choose from. Very friendly staff and delicious food. I had the Falawesome bagel and my wife had a toasted Mexicana sandwich both were fantastic. As I am not vegan I opted to have the bulletproof coffee (has dairy in but can be veganised) and my wife had a smoothie. It was our first visit to RAWR but it won’t be our last.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Local, Welcome to flavour town!

The cow that rawr'd - Edit

Reducarian with lots of vegan options; few people would find nothing to enjoy. Super fresh, healthy and ethical served in comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Kick in the peanuts particularly pleasant 😉

Local, ethical, and wonderful - Edit

Rapidly growing to be a local empire, Rawr is wonderful for lunch, dinner, or a night out. Stocked with a range of gorgeous bottled beers, such as many from Brew Dog, their menu is varied and very appetising. All served by very friendly staff and beautifully presented.

Another of their main draws are their raw smoothies, which are delicious, both to look at and consume.

If you haven't been to any of their sites, you're missing out.

Pros: Broad range of cuisines, Excellent beer, Smoothies

Cons: Pricier, due to excellent ingredients

fabulous! - Edit

It's great to see a veggie cafe so busy in a mainstream place. I love the fact that it's gone for a contemporary feel to match all the other cool cafe bars.
I think a lot of veggie places are a little old fashioned and set in their ways.

The sandwiches are fantastic, proper thick bread!

It seems to be mostly vegan too which is great.

Definitely give this place a try!

Pros: place looks great, food tastes great

Loved it x - Edit

It is a very good way of socialising with other vegans, I have only been here once and have already been approach by some fellow vegans. It is quite small but that just helps people mingle more as you may have to share tables. The staff were very friendly and the smoothie I ordered was delicious. They also sell fresh juice, raw sandwiches, cake and my favourite being the reasonably priced powders and seeds which usually cost a fortune when you buy them else where.
I will definitely become a regular customer and suggest this place for all vegans. But keep in mind some shakes have honey in so be sure to tell them your vegan before ordering.
Have a nice day reader xx

Almost vegan juice bar and cafe - Edit

I visited RAWR two days after it opened. It is proving very popular - not surprising given the lack of vegan and vegetarian cafes in Newcastle and The Potteries.

I had the Falawesome sandwich - hummus, falafel, carrot and rocket, followed by a vegan cake. Very tasty and fresh. All the food is raw, and most is vegan. There is a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, cakes, juices and smoothies, plus coffee and tea.

Despite the continuing flow of customers the service was prompt and friendly.

RAWR is in Fogg Street, which runs between Ironmarket and Merrial Street. It is small, you sit at a shared table in the middle or at counters around the outside. Free wifi is available and they sell vegan cosmetics, teas and coffees.

Let's hope they drop the cows' milk and butter and become 100% vegan.

Pros: Excellent quality food and drink, Plenty of choice for vegans, Informal, friendly atmosphere

Cons: Not completely vegan
