CLOSED: Rauw

All right, I enter Susanne's cafe and it is absolutely fun to read her menu: Green juices, winter soups, almond chocolate milk, homemade granola, seed crackers with cashew ricotta and much more. Pure joy for a conscious foodie and for very reasonable prices!

I choose the warm raw chocolate Milk. Freshly made almond milk, dates for sweetness, raw cacao powder, maca and a cinnamon herbal blend – delicious… and just perfect for a Dutch winter day!
Susanne serves it in Ball mason Jars – which I find a very nice presentation. I take my first sibs and we start a nice conversation.

I asked Susanne what ignited her venture into raw-food cuisine;
“Pure passion for everything I put on the menu”, she says with a big smile.

Susanne loves to cook, to share knowledge and to celebrate homemade food together. She is doing so as a teacher at a Rudolf Steiner School and as a mother at home with her family. For a long time she knew she would like to bring her passion into bigger projects.

Susanne's biggest inspiration for recipes and running a business comes from the Cafe Bliss in Victoria, B.C. / Canada. She visited this place for several times and felt in love with their wholesome approach.

That way her cafe starts to be an inspiring place for others. Random visitors pass by; they try gourmet raw food and have a coffee afterwards. Their visit could turn out as a true inspiration and eye-opening experience for them. Other visitors find Susanne's cafe via Happy Cow and are very thankful to have a stop at their favorite cuisine in order to enjoy their Rotterdam trip even more.

Very cute raw vegan place offering home made raw delights. Extremely tasty treats and food delights and gorgeous freshly juiced jam jars. Lovely owner with her kindness and passion reflected in her food :)

You can get to "Rauw" for example by metro (station Rijnhafen, plus about 10 minutes walk) or via the pedestrian / bicycle bridge "Rijnhavenbrug" from "Hotel New York" (one of the famous sights of Rotterdam).

The food is really nice (I had a mushroom soup and three variations of tacos plus a great cake with lots of chocolate). Everything is raw and vegan, except for the hot drinks (hot chocolate "from the Mayas", yummy!). Great smoothies, too!

The interior is a bit basic but that is more than compensated by the friendliness of the owner.

Brand new raw food place. I loved the home-made granola.
Everything is vegan.
