Amazing

This place is super cute and the server was really kind and on top of it.
I ordered the elote and the Crunchwrap. Both were so good, but the elote was especially drool worthy.
Vegan food has been a bit hard to find in SB, but I will be coming to Rascal’s from now on when I’m in town.

Pros: Good selection , Great staff, So tasty

Cons: The hours made it a bit difficult to time a visit.

Must try

Cozy restaurant with bright interior. Had great service and the food was delicious. I had the cauliflower tacos and a coworker had the crunch wrap. Portions were large, I couldn’t eat the two tacos. Chips and salsas were quite good. recommend highly.

Excellent!

Bean tostada, impossible picadillo tacos, pambazo torta, and churros. All of the food was excellent, flavorful, and fresh. I would definitely come back!

Best chilaquiles in SB

Really recommend going for breakfast. Everything else is really good too, but you need to try their chilaquiles and breakfast burrito.

Good and filling

Very good and filling vegan Mexican food. One of the few fully vegan places in SB! Nice interior space. They could benefit by having a few more vegan desserts.

Best food we've had in the US so far

We're a week into our trip of Pacific Coast Highway and stopped here to get some dinner. We've found everywhere to be really expensive so far, and this was really decently priced and our favourite meal so far. My husband got the chefs favourite and really enjoyed it. I got tempura cauliflower tacos - what's not to love! Would definitely be back if we ever come this way again!

Pros: Amazing food, Great service

Sooooo Delicious!!!

I can't recommend Rascal's more highly. We had the homemade Vegan Horchata and Jamaica, Al Pastor Burrito Bowl (perfect slight char and deliciously spiced with a poblano crema, rice, beans and veg), Las Palmas Bowl (gorgeous tofu and tiny cubes of refreshing cucumber mixed in the rice), and elote with vegan mayo and spicy crunch. The flavors and textures were playful, nuanced, and oh so tasty!

Pros: Delicious, Really nice people, Great vibe

Loved it!

My husband and I had a delicious dinner at Rascal’s. Everything on the menu is vegan. We had the cauliflower tacos and the crunch wrap. Both were great, with the cauliflower tacos taking the prize. Portions are big, so we will split an entree next time and get a salad too. Highly recommend!

Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, Clean

😋 fantastic food and vibes

The food: is so tasty, I love the gringa, pineapple, v. Cheese and very tasty soya bits🍍😋, high recommend . The cauliflower is great. My friend had the burrito and wasn’t impressed, but they are no expert.
Atmosphere: cool down to earth hipper vibes. Love it.
Drinking: i love all the drinks, very sweet 😋. No alcohol, which I love, coming soon I imagine.

Update!!!!
Brunch 😋
We have the breakfast burrito 🌯 and the breakfast muffins and a chocolate doughnut 🍩. And they were amazing so tasty and filling. Can’t recommend enough.

Huge proportions. But mediocre food

The proportions where huge! A plus since the price is on the steeper end ($18)

The Chilaquiles verde was sour. Although the chips where nice the crema spice was good

My breakfast burrito was huge and decent. Although it dripped oil.

Pros: Huge proportions , Friendly staff and nice cafe vibes

Cons: Taste was ok to average , Price.

Vegan Mexican brunch

Usually we roll through Santa Barbara daytimes, so we were glad to see a Saturday brunch advertised. It was very enjoyable. I had the breakfast sandwich of Beyond Sausage, tofu and cheese (hold the mayo) on an English muffin. My wife had the Chilaquiles Verdes, with "fried egg", avocado, white onions. The verde sauce was amazing, wish I could buy a quart of it to take home. We got a latte from the shop a few doors down, to accompany two glazed donuts for dessert (which looked and tasted way too good to be vegan, but everything at Rascal's is vegan).

Pros: All vegan, Tasty, Mexican

Food was decent. Food safety and vegan knowledge were not

I got esquites and churros. The esquites were tasty, but they were lukewarm when the should be hot. There wasn’t enough cheese and too much veganaise. The churros were tasty but also expensive at $12 for 6 mini churros.

The food safety was an issue. The staff multiple times when they were carrying the food, had their thumb in the food over the edge of the bowl. They need better food handling standards.

I also inquired about specific vegan protein options and the staff I asked didn’t know what the protein options were made off and even went to ask the kitchen staff and I still didn’t get an answer about what the items were made of.

Overall I might visit again, but it wasn’t the standard I expect especially for $20 a plate.

Pros: All vegan , Flavors were decent

Cons: Expensive , Food handling not good , Unknowledgeable about vegan protein

So good

This was the best vegan restaurant we enjoyed during our time in Santa Barbara. The biggest surprise was the amazing quality of the homemade tortillas for the tacos and crunchwraps which really made the food feel unique. wish I had gone twice.

Pretty good…

I was excited to go here and had heard so much hype. It was good, but it wasn’t anything better than what I could make at home? I got the crunch wrap. It felt like it could have had more pizzazz… more cheese, sauce, etc. It mostly was like beans and lettuce in a tortilla😡but I am grateful they are fully vegan and for that, four stars! Plus I haven’t tried everything yet.

Pros: FULLY VEGAN, Yummy drinks (non alc), Options for everyone

Cons: Expensive, Not that tasty? Didn’t blow my mind

Always delicious!

Rascals is hands-down amazing. I love everything on their menu, everything I have gotten is flavorful and also very filling. My current favorites are the Crunchwrap, Potato-chorizo tacos, and Palma Bowl. The cupcakes are super tasty as well! The new location on Haley St is super cute and very light and airy.

Pros: Delicious , Filling, Lots of options

Cons: Can be busy on weekends so get there early!

Fantastic food, many options

Re-opening update (Mar '23)

Rascals is back and delicious as ever! I can't recommend this place enough. Get there early or you may have to wait as it's a relatively small space. They're probably also working out the kinks as they're in a brand new spot, so be patient and enjoy the nice vibe and tasty food 🙏🏻

----------
Just about everything on the menu here sounds amazing, and my group (mix of vegan, vegetarian and omni) really enjoyed everything we ordered. Service was just a tad slow but it's a small operation. Go support them if you can 👍🏻

Fantastic Mexican dishes

I came with my husband and a friend of ours and it was so nice to find quality traditional Mexican food in Santa Barbara done vegan. My husband had the sopes, which were phenomenal. I had the burrito and our friend had the enchiladas. I thought the burrito was ok but I would probably order the sopes next time. I did think that their salsas lacked any real spice (perhaps having to cater to a whiter palate?) even the habanero. I also found it incredibly expensive.

Pros: Excellent quality

Cons: Expensive
