Encontramos este pequeño café en Nara, una comida excelente, considerando que son muy pocos los lugares con opciones vegetarianas y/o veganas

Great food - Edit
After visiting Nara Park we went here to have lunch. We ordered a meal and 2 sandwiches and it was really good. But plan for waiting time. The restaurant is run by only one person and that’s why you have to wait about 45 minutes to receive your meal. Anyways the food was great and the owner was really friendly. Loved the place.

Delicious, homemade food - Edit
If I could, I'd eat in Ramuna every single day!
Read moreThe place was a little bit difficult to find but it was worth searching for! The cafe is run by just one lady who does everything by herself. The interior is super cozy and adorable.
I wanted to order the burger set but she was out of burgers, so i got the karaage bento and oh my, it was delicious. The karaage had the perfect texture and was super crispy. I loved the veggie tempura as well!
I wholeheartedly recommend, one of the best meals I've had in Japan!
Pros: Amazing food, Kind lady who runs the place, All vegan menu

One of the best meals I had in Japan - Edit
It's a small place run by a single person, so be prepared to wait a bit to be attended and served. The lady that runs the place is nice and I don't know how she is able to work so fast. When we arrived at opening time there were already around 7 people on queue, and we got our orders taken in like around half an hour and our food not very much after that.
Read moreThe food was so good, one of the best I had in Japan, and she has quite a surprising number of options in the menu. I wish I could have tried more.
There's also some desserts and pre-made food (like curry, ramen, etc.) that you can buy there.

Superbe petit restaurant - Edit

Amazing vegan food in Nara - Edit
Tiny place very close to the Nara park. The owner does everything by herself, so don't go there if you are in a rush.
Read moreWe ordered the burger with greens, and added for 200yens the gratin with soy milk. We also ordered the "Buddha bowl" which comes with fermented brown rice, falafel and salad, and for 200yens added the miso soup.
For dessert we had a amazake soy milk soft icecream with mango sauce.
Everything was delicious.
The restaurant is small and filled with charm. You can tell the owner loves cats.
They also sell precooked vegan goods, pottery, bags...

Cute spot for vegan food in Nara! (Got take-out) - Edit
I went here May 21st 2024. I got to Nara early, so went to Ramuna for opening. About 3 people were lined up before opening outside. Our plan was always to get take-out, so once everyone else was seated we let the owner know we wanted to do take-out & she gave us the take-out menu. We got 2 soy meat kaarage bowls & 2 soymilk ice-creams.
Read moreSince everyone else was being seated and given menus, we were able to order first for take-out and only waited about 10-15 minutes for our order to be ready! She was super fast!
Since it's a small place and only 1 person is preparing the meals and running the show, once around 5-6 people are seated and ordering the wait becomes an hour long, so it's really good to get there for opening, or be ready for some waiting (It's a cute place and in a cute neighbourhood so there's no worries - but I do think it would be helpful to the owner to have a reservation system) But for anyone worried about having a waiting time, you should know ordering take-out is very easy at Ramuna and that is a secondary option!
As for the food, it was very yummy. My sister and I both really enjoy the kaarage bowl, it was a perfect meal to end our Nara trip. On the way back from Ramuna to the station we got to eat the soymilk icecream which had a nice flavour and was very creamy & smooth as well, so I'm rating Ramuna 5/5 stars! It was an enjoyable experience.
Pros: Yummy vegan food, Decent prices, Take-out friendly
Cons: Opens really late at 1PM, No reservation system, 1 hour wait times

Delightful stop to add to my Nara day 🦌 - Edit
Food was delicious, I had the Dan Dan Noodles. I love that there was some consciousness raising literature in the shop, I haven't really seen much of that anywhere else. The person running the shop was doing an amazing job considering how busy it was and they were by themselves!

The cafe has a cozy atmosphere and is run by only one person - don’t come here if you are in a hurry! When we arrived, the place was almost full so we expected s long wait and the owner also told us that it will take a long time. We were positively suprised when it took only 20 minutes or so after we arrived to get our food!

Cute, tasty, kind…. But slow - Edit
This is a nice place if you feel like you have time to linger. We did, so we got there right at opening and were the third table seated. It took about 20 minutes to get our tea and about a half hour for the food to come out. Since we were at the end of our half-day trip to Nara and had seen the attractions we came for, we didn’t mind waiting and relaxing. Fortunately water is self-service. This place is cute and has a gentle vibe. The owner works hard and does everything by herself.
Read moreMy partner and I both got the soy meat karaage bento box and enjoyed it. The miso soup and sides of veggies were really nice. The soy meat had a better texture than some other places I’ve had a similar dish (it wasn’t over cooked) and the fermented brown rice was awesome. We also got the soy milk soft serve for dessert and while it was really good it wasn’t worth the extra time it took (when we asked about it, the owner turned on the ice cream machine, at which point it felt too late to say never mind).
I enjoyed my meal here a lot and would eat there again on a return trip to Nara.
