Not many options for vegans

Not sure if we got unlucky but both times we went in (Hokitika is limited for vegans) they didn’t have any vegan options

Pros: Friendly staff, Nice coffee

Cons: Not any vegan food options

Limited but tasty

Went here for breakfast and lunch yesterday. Breakfast had a nearly-vegan granola (had honey - which doesn't bother me) and a few non-dairy milk options, with fresh fruit on top. Lunch featured a couple of salads that were fully vegan (one of which was quite delicious). The staff was knowledgeable and willing to work with me to make sure I had what I needed. Might be worth a call ahead of time to ensure that they can accommodate - if you can ring the day prior, I imagine they'd be able to ensure having something ready.

Pros: Knowledgeable and willing staff., Tasty food.

Cons: Limited vegan offerings.

Vegan options available

We didn't have a lot of time traveling through Hokitika and the smaller Café was very welcoming! They do have daily and weekly vegan options. We mixed a few salads in a "large" box (actually medium size but enough for one person!) for 10$. Very delicious and definitely worth a visit!

Pros: Vegan options, Friendly stuff, Cozy place

salad for breakfast?

Yup! Didn’t think it would work, but it satisfied my appetite! I had a pumpkin salad and half apple and fennel I think? They were so good, I wanted more! My husband had the green smoothie which was really tasty too! Those were really the only vegan choices we could have but all so good!

Pros: vegan options, super nice staff, environmentally friendly

Great if you like dairy

Pleasant café, friendly staff, with a great vegetarian selection, but only limited salads available for vegans on the day we visited, which disappointed my wife!

Pros: Friendly

Cons: lacked imagination in vegan options

Hoki's Hidden Gem

Love love love Ramble!! Amazing coffee, delicious fresh original food - the salad bowls with house made hummus are to die for!! Sunshiny staff are the icing on the cake - definitely a winner!!
