Cheap vegetarian food (most is vegan) - Edit
Update Dec 2020: Unfortunately the quality isn’t that great anymore and the portion got smaller while the price got higher (20 000 for Nasi Campur).
Read moreThis is no doubt my favorite place in Ubud! The vegan nasi campur is to die for and so cheap at only 15 000. And they cook different things every day, so even if you go there many times a week you won't be bored.
They also have vegan snacks, jamu and soymilk.
Staff is really friendly although they don't speak much English.
I highly recommend to try it out.
Pros: cheap, cheap, cheap, super friendly staff, completely vegan
Cons: nothing

Lovely and local - Edit
We (American and Javanese couple) come at least once a week to get takeout nasi campur. The mom here is very welcoming and sweet. We can’t stay away too long because Ibu treats us like family and we miss her😊
Read moreShe cooks with a variety of fake meats, which makes this our #1 nasi campur in the “junky” category. We love it and it’s a great value at 40k for two. The flavors and textures are craveworthy, authentic, local, and can be verrry pedas (spicy). I especially like the moringa and kacang merah (red bean) soup.
We often add fresh tomato and cucumber lalapan at home, to cut the heat and freshen it up. Ugh, so good.
Open until 20:00 during covid. Keep in mind, Ibu closes for local and family ceremonies.❤️
Pros: Friendly, Delicious and spicy nasi campur, Good value
Cons: Sometimes runs out if you come too late

Nasi campur is amazing and everything is great value/ price. We also enjoy the bakso, soto and mi goreng here. The ladies are lovely. Seating is basic, it's all about the food here. Must visit.

We got nasi goreng and nasi campur as take away and it was amazing. They make it traditional, so ask for "not spicy" if you are not that into chili.

It’s open and it’s great - Edit
It’s really wonderful to finally find a place selling food which has uncompromised, edgy and exciting flavors. This place is mostly visited by locals and also owned by local ladies. It should be open everyday 10 to 22, closed on Sunday and sometimes on Thursdays. Worth the trip, also worth to try the soup and really chilling jelly dessert😄

Best source of vegan snacks in Ubud!! - Edit
They have a changing stock of vegan snacks that are ridiculously cheap and labeled vegan. The banana croissants/molen are great to take home, and I just found an assortment of buns with different fillings marked vegan on their shelf today (flavours include blueberry, chocolate, caramel, strawberry). Their meals are also great and a total steal. I had their Nasi Campur and it was delicious! It’s a hole in the wall with only a few tables, but so worth visiting!

Great place for vegetarians - Edit
Had read about this place in happy cow and decided to give it a try. Every penny was worth it. Food was delicious and cheap. We ate here on two different days and had variety of Balinese cuisine on both days. The owner is very friendly and is of great help. This place serves no onion and no garlic food.

NOT Vegan - Edit
We wanted to try this restaurant for the authentic dishes but were a bit skeptical regarding some items, for instance their noodles if it contains egg. When we asked the staff (who were very kind though) they insisted that everything on their menu is vegan, no milk, no eggs. When we asked for the bakso (meatballs), they showed us it's package and as we were reading through the ingredients, we spotted milk powder.
Read moreProbably it's the only non vegan item as it was frozen and pre-made but after this we felt insecure trying out anything else.
If all else is vegan, then it should be fine as the place is really identical the old fashioned, very simple local warungs, therefore it could be a decent authentic experience for the plant based travelers.

I love the two ladies - Edit
Went here so many times, the place offers such a great deal. You can get a set of nasi campur, normally with 4 different dishes and a bowl of soup for 1 USD (15,000 IDR)
Read moreThe ladies can't speak english so well but they are friendly. Make sure to try their Molen (banana fried croissant) - however if you don't like fried food this is probably not the best place because their food are mostly fried
