Great food and most dishes can be made Vegan! - Edit
The food is fantastic at Rak Thai! I tried to give it 5 stars but Happy Cow only lets you score fully vegan and veggie restaurants the 5-stars!

Amazing Thai Food - Edit
Not only vegan food and lots of it but all take away dishes come in 100% biodegradable and compostable packaging. We tried several vegan dishes and they were all really good. This is a great unexpected find in the borders of Scotland.

Disappointing - Edit
The tofu satay was huge and we could've shared one but not nearly enough satay sauce with it, just a tiny pot on the side with 4 skewers of rather plain tofu!
Read moreThe tofu red curry and sticky rice were good. The tofu massaman was very sweet so I wasn't keen but my partner liked it. It's usually my favourite though.
For £38 for 2 it seemed a bit pricey for a takeaway but perhaps the satay was expensive because it was so big.
I didn't like having to call in advance to arrange it (as my email was ignored) when I was very busy packing to move and my partner wasn't with me to ask if his meal wasn't veganisable. He was unable to tell me what they would have if I just walked in, I'd have to see what the chef could make vegan on the day he said.
When I arrived to collect and had left my phone in the car (on purpose actually) he asked if I'd left it because I am vegan. How rude!
Pros: Will make vegan curry paste, Red curry and sticky rice was good
Cons: Expensive and not that great, No labelling/have to arrange in advance, Rude owner

We came in on a Friday to discuss which items can be veganised, in readiness for an order on Saturday, the man at the counter was extremely helpful. Some items would take more time to prepare and he was pleased to discuss with us. The fried tofu and tempura dishes have a separate frier. Our takeaway the next day was really tasty. Although they are very busy so a slight delay picking it up, despite ordering it at 4:45pm to be ready for 6:15pm.
