Gutes indisches Essen 🙂 - Edit

Top.
Pros: Viele vegane Optionen, Preise in Ordnung
Cons: Kleidung muss danach gelüftet/gewaschen werden 😄

Good experience - Edit
The eggplant dished are really good but also oily. Pakoras and Samosas are better than at other places. Very big plates and not expensive.

Nothing special - Edit
We were having dinner with 3 persons. None of us enjoyed their plate. It’s not bad but not tasty neither. If you don’t eat often indian food you will enjoy it but if you already tried other indian restaurants you might be disappointed. Vegan dishes are labelled.

Tasty and inexpensive - Edit
The place is more like a take away/Indian shop but there are plenty of tables to have food there. Many vegan options, also some of the snacks (samosa and pakora probably) are vegan.

They Own the Buffet Next Door - Edit
This restaurant is more of a grab and go place. I was confused by this and a staff member recommended we check out the Indian buffet restaurant they own next door. Highly recommend! 2 vegan dishes, 2 vegetarian dishes, and 2 meat dishes were on the buffet. Vegan buffet was only 10 euros! It also included vegan yogurt. The bread for the buffet was not vegan, however they offered and made me vegan bread at no charge! Incredible food, service, and atmosphere.

Tasty! - Edit
I got the mushroom and peas curry. They only have white rice I think. I also got two samosas. I think that's how many come in an order. With the curry, samosas and a bottle of water it was 11€. The curry was 6€50. I loved everything I got. I was totally in the mood for Indian and don't usually go to Indian places because menus aren't clearly marked. They have a special vegan section. They even had a separate card with only the vegan options on it. The rice seemed only a tiny bit dry but with the curry sauce it was barely noticeable. Samosas were great. Pretty sure I had to tell them I wanted those vegan. Maybe because of sauce served with it. The sauce they served with it was a sweet and tangy sauce. I was super full.

Disappointing - Edit
Let’s start with the positive: this place has its own vegan menu with clearly identified vegan items. The prices are quite reasonable. And my fiancé liked her food and liked the place overall. But for me, it was almost certainly the worst Indian food I’ve ever eaten. My chickpea curry basically consisted of slightly undercooked white basmati rice with a bland curry sauce and slightly crunchy chickpeas. It was like they took their normal curry recipe, took the cream out, and didn’t replace it with a vegan substitute such as coconut milk, thus leaving it watery and without any creaminess at all. The samosas were a bit more palatable. I appreciate that this place caters to vegans, and if you want a quick bite for less money, this might do the trick. But just be aware that it’s a fast food Indian joint with pretty bland (in my experience) vegan offerings.

Lovely curry - Edit
Traditional Indian curry place, with good knowledge of what was vegan. I had the mushroom and pea curry with rice, which was very tasty. I only wanted a small portion but the woman said because it was a vegan curry I had to have the large one, which was a shame. But definitely worth a visit!

Simple, inexpensive Indian food with a specifically vegan menu - Edit
This is a reasonably priced restaurant near the Schloss Heidelberg that offers clearly marked vegan options (a separate menu). The owners are friendly and speak English.

Simple yummy Indian Curries! - Edit
I really love indian food, so I was so glad to hear that the Raja Rani has recently added some vegan options! There are now nine fully vegan curries on the menu! For example they offer lentil curry, chickpea curry, aubergine potato curry, mushroom spinach curry and a couple more. You can be seated or have a take-away and they offer small and big portions. I had the aubergine-potato curry and thought it was pretty yummy. The food was inexpensive and the big portion was pretty big. Perfect for a warm meal on the go for vegans who have trouble planning ahead ;)! Will definitely be returning!

Pros: friendly staff, good value
