Nice Alternative - Edit
When you have enough from local food and want to have a bit of home-taste. This is a great spot to go to. We had some tortillas and burritos as well as some cocktails and it was really refreshing to get some food from home. Luckily they are familiar with the vegan lifestyle and know how to adapt the non vegan dishes on request. Nice staff and great place to hide from the busy main street.

So many vegan options, all extremely tasty! Perhaps a bit pricier than some other spots in Sri Lanka, but Ella seems to be a bit more expensive in general. A must visit for any vegan in Ella.

Food was amazing and so many vegan options. The tropic thunder - coconut roti with masala veg and gravy was next level. Wedges were a bit oily but other than that a wonderful meal. We’ll be back!

BEST PLACE IN ELLA! - Edit
Tiny place but very cute and colorful! Unfortunately we can't give 5 stars, they would have been well deserved since the menu is almost completely vegan. I so appreciated this and the fact that there were so many gluten-free choices as well. We had two burgers, one with curries vegan meatballs and the other with fried chuncky mushrooms: both tasted great but the second one was spacey!

Good to see so many options and an intentional focus on vegan dishes. We got the build your own burger - mushroom, spaghetti, gnocchi and katsu eggplant curry. They were all really good - except for the katsu eggplant curry, which was average (probably wouldn't get it again). There were several other options which looked good.

Awesome place with an abundance of vegan and vegetarian options. - Edit
I am a picky vegan and it was incredible to have loads of options to choose from out of the usual cuisine of Sri Lanka. We ate here every day and I enjoyed a falafel bowl, spaghetti bolognese and my favourite the crispy mushroom burger. Reasonably priced as well.

Literally worst experience of my life. I’m vegan, allergic to onion and garlic.

The plates arrives full of onion and garlic.
Then I ordered a vegan bun with mashrooms, after two bites I realised it was CHICKEN. I’ve been vegan all my life and is never happened to me, I’m totally traumatised because of it. A life without meat and now because of their mistake this happened and they even had the face of telling me “you ordered chicken”.
Little plus. I ordered avocado slices 2 times and a coke. Never arrived.
Our friends wine, never arrived.

Delicious food in such a cool setting! Lots of levels to this restaurant where you can overlook the street and town in Ella. We loved it so much we went back twice! Loads of amazing vegan options, we tried the tacos, open lettuce wraps, falafel, nachos, pesto pasta and vegan choc cake over the two times we visited. The tacos and nachos were our favourite. Service was also fab!

Mein Freund und ich waren richtig begeistert! Haben uns quer durch probiert mit tacos, gnocchi’s mit Kürbis, Burger, danach noch Kuchen und Crazy leckeres veganes Eis! Auch die Getränke (Mocktails und Kaffee) waren super! Echt empfehlenswert. Der vibe hier ist auch toll und lädt dazu ein lange zu verweilen😄

Read moreWe had the oatmeal pancakes and the chickpea flour omelette with added tofu and avocado. Both were great with generous portions. Lovely juice and good iced coffee. Every day, they have a vegan cake of the day (chocolate is pictured), and 50% goes to the local dog charity, which is fabulous!

We had a lovely meal here whilst in Ella. Burgers and chips and chocolate cake for dessert. Food tasted nice and service was prompt. Unfortunately my son and I had a bad stomach less than an hour later. Which is a key indicator that it had dairy in it. Wouldn't go back here again.

I am a little embarrassed to admit, but I ate here five times over three days. Quite a few vegan options allowed for a different dining experience each visit. Excellent service. The tofu sandwich is delicious.

Dont waste your time going anywhere if you want western foods, these guys know what they are doing. If you are after sri lankan food, this place is not for you, only 3 dishes. I ordered the sri lanka curry and it was delicious nevertheless. The gnocchis were also sooo good. Good for meat eaters too.

Went back here several times during my stay in Ella! The place is very busy so you might have to wait in line. But food is tasty, service is quick and location is great! A large and varied menu to choose from. Recommend constructing your own burger!

Very cool little place over 3 floors. I had the tofu burger on a bagel and vegan coleslaw and my BF had the crispy mushroom burger. Both really tasty and decent sized portions😄you might need to wait a little while for a table (we waited about 15 mins) but worth it! They also donate some of the tips to Dogs of Ella which is very cool 😎
