Completely vegan store

A lot of products, vegan, organic and biological. It's one of the oldest vegan grocery shops on Porto.
Highly recommended.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Lots of good products

Awesome market - used to also have a vegan cafe

An organic market with a vegan-friendly restaurant in the back is exactly the spot I’m trying to find when traveling! Quintal Bioshop checked that box for sure! We had an awesome meal here but were sad to find out that the cafe recently close. The market is amazing though so definitely worth a visit!

Fantastic selection

A small shop with nearly everything! From icecream to fresh veggies - everything is available. Even a friendly and cute cat on the counter ❤️ The cafe is closed now!

Unpretentious and home-made

Healthy and tasty food (without being mind-blowing), at a good price. Store has a resident cat, what more do you want?

Pros: Home-made, Reasonably priced

A great lunch hideaway

This was a fabulous spot for lunch. The meals were very reasonably priced (€5-7 pp), fresh, and tasty. I had the tofu/olive sandwich and my partner had the daily special, a spaghetti with oat-based meatballs. We sat in the courtyard behind the restaurant and had a lovely time watching the café’s two resident cats playing in the sun. I also had a very nice espresso. Overall, a great, low-key and unassuming spot for lunch.

Liked it!

Calm and small place with vegan options. We had the vegetables salad with tofu, nuts, & sprouts, and a delicious samosa. Also a tasty carrot cake. Yes they do have a cat, who is a bonus!

Pros: Quiet, , good healthy food.

Cons: Not many options

Nice food and place

I find the workers there not nice at all! I went there alone, one remembered me and said Hi! but the other two were just with serious death faces. Then the "nice" one said something to the cat because he was in her way, she was trying not to be mean because we were there but I could tell by her voice tone.
I ordered the tofu sandwich and it was much smaller than before! I paid 4 euros for a little thing!!
When I left I said Good Afternoon! to the cashier of the supermarket and she said the coldest goodbye!
Idk what's wrong with these people: owning a business and not having the basic requirements. Is it that hard to be friendly?

A hidden gem

Quintal is the place to go to for organic food. Sure, it's expensive, but this is a place where you can get gourmet food, of the kind you eat once in a while (or more, if you can afford it). I've known this shop since it opened and have consistently bought my christmas presents there so I recommend it for buying souvernirs. Also, it has a good selection of natural cosmetics and detergents so check it out.
The cafe is located on the back and it's a very quiet, relaxed, peaceful place. You can get a light meal there, as well as a snack (like a soy latte with an olive oil toast). Best thing of all, it has cats which will gladly sit on your lap and get all your worries out. How can you not love it?

Pros: Great food, Cats!

Cons: Pricey

not worthy of the title ‘restaurant’

This is a chaotic shop selling biological food with a cat laying around the area where food is served. There’s very little choice, the olivepaste/tofu sandwich was both dry and dripping with olive oil on top(!), and the place downstairs where the toilet is smells like mould and makes you feel sick. I would give this 0 stars but 2 is the minimum on here. I’m not disappointed that easily yet going there was one big regret

Cons: Not a professional restaurant/service, Cat inside area where you eat + mouldy downstairs, Poorly tasting food, better make it yourself

Cute organic shop and cafe

Good for allergies and a couple of vegan options. Though the 4€ vegan sandwich doesn’t come with a side salad and is very small

Excellent little bio shop and café

The culinar highlight of our trip in Porto.
Great little bio shop with a lovely kitchen that offers different daily meals every day. The day we went, we had a chickpea curry and various cakes, everything was absolutely delicious!

The two owners and Roquette the cat were absolutely lovely. Their café is quite small but felt very warm. Lovely place!

cozy spot

I enjoyed this space! The food had a homemade vibe which I like. It was a yummy chickpea currt with basmati rice. Nothing mind-blowing, but tasty. The shop is full of vegan options for all kind of products, and they had nutritional yeast!!

Pros: store has lots of options, fair price - plate is 5,50€, homemade food

Tiny shop with good vegan food

The cafe behind in back of the shop serves good, homemade vegan food. The options are small but tasty and creative. We enjoyed the food and the company of the owner’s friendly cat. The shop is a little away from the center, but it’s worth the venture for a good lunch.

Pros: good food, organic, good price

Cons: small menu

Delicious / Friendly Service

I love this place. The perfect place to bring your laptop or just chill out on the lovely back patio. You can pick up vegan groceries and dine on some excellent food.

I ordered the vegetable creamy soup, Greek rice, and a piece of chocolate cake.

The soup was light and flavorful, the Greek rice was fluffy and seasoned nicely with plenty of muahrooms and topped with a green salad. The cake was rich and not too sweet which I prefer. Perfect spot for lunch and to catch up on emails or a wonderful reataurant to hang out with others for a leisurely dining experience.

Pros: excellent food, calm atmosphere, vegan grocery store next to restaurant

Delicious & so great for coeliacs!

We were so delighted to find this lovely spot and the owners couldn't have been more helpful! My partner is veggie and coeliac and they really understood and took the time to help him - he was delighted with his zuchini roll & goats cheese salad with a fresh veggy juice & vegetable soup. I had a goats cheese, apple, walnut and honey balasalmiq sandwich and it was one of the most delicious sandwiches I've ever tasted. I also had a lovely local amber craft beer. With a lovely little garden area to eat in, this place is really a hidden gem.

Pros: Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff, Delicious, tasty food , Coeliac Friendly Vegetarian

Quintal-essential

Beautiful shop selling essential vegan foodstuffs with a gorgeous cafe and tree lined garden at the rear. The set menu of soup and a main course is €7. Today's soup was sweet potato and green vegetable which was ok. A little watery lacking intense flavour but fine. The main course was a home made bean burger. Again, nothing amazing but fine. The marinated tofu and black olive pâté sandwich was pretty sensational though. As a stand alone cafe this would be a good 3 but the vegan shop makes it a healthy 4.

Pros: great shop, nice cafe, friendly

lovely spot to relax

We went to the bioshop to have lunch outside in the beautiful little garden in the back of the shop. The atmosphere was very quiet and relaxed. The menu is very simple with 3 different options: prato (which is the dish of the day) + fresh juice, prato + soup, or soup + cake. There were 2 different dishes which you could choose from. We had the option between zucchini rolls (raw) and the chickpea curry with basmati rice. We went for the second option and a watermelon juice which were both very delicious. There you can really taste the difference in quality! :) The price for the menu was€ 7,50. However, you shouldn't go there too hungry as the portions are pretty small. We actually went to another place afterwards as we were still hungry. ;) Otherwise I would have loved to try their vegan ice cream or the carrot cake.
In the shop itself I found that they had only a very small selection of products which were quite expensive.

Pros: delicious food, nice atmosphere

Cons: small portions , quite expensive

Nice find!

A deli and a cafe at the back of the store. We went to the cafe to get some take away lunch, which was limited to only half the menu (sandwiches) but I managed to get some salad to take away. The owner made an effort to accommodate my request, which was nice.

Menu changes daily depending on the ingredients they can source. Tofu sandwich and salad were tasty and the banana cake was lovely too!

Pros: vegan ice cream, sunny patio

Cons: limited take away options
