Sad to hear that they are closing

Served the bean & spinach bowl and the chickpea curry and both were delicious. As drinks, we tried the dirty chai latte and a soy chicory coffee. Splendid! We also received some biscotti as a treat because it was the last day before they were closing. What a shame that they have to close down the restaurant.

Sad to see it go.

On their website it says that Quinta Verde will permanently close as of 1st September 2017. The Hague does not have many options for vegans, and Quinta Verde was a lovely recent addition with delicious food and friendly staff. I'm sad to see it go.

If you have the chance to eat there before they close, take it!

Pros: very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, healthy, yummy food

cozy atmosphere

Cozy atmosphere, it looks small from outside but the inside there were more tables than we thought.

By the time we went (Sunday 1300) there was only one staff and so she was cooking and serving alone, which made the serving time a little slow, but she once came up to our table and told us how long it would take.

Salads were simple, nothing special. Tosti was like a hot sandwich which you get to choose the veg/fruits/nuts, which was new and interesting.

Pros: cozy atmosphere, friendly staff

Cons: slow service

Great lunch

Quinta Verde is in a nice part of the city, and the place itself is really nice. The girls working there were both friendly and smiled a lot, and they were helpful in explaining the menu (which is in Dutch only... really???).

I had the special dish of the day, bread with mango hummus and vegetables, and also a berry bar, which was great: not too sweet, and full of berries and seeds! I also had water with ginger and mint, really fresh! (I paid around 16 EUR, which is fair, I think)

Certainly recommended!

Pros: Many choices in the menu, Good cakes!, Friendly atmosphere

Nice

So far I have been here only once. I had a soup (I forgot what type of soup it was) and an empanada. Both were ok, but not very special and I found the empanada somewhat bland. I mentioned the latter to the owner and she said that some customers found the empanadas they served originally to spicy. So that could be just a matter of taste.

I also had a cake which was very nice and there were more good-looking cakes, so I will come back for sure. And I am very happy that they decided to go fully vegan!

Pros: nice cake, friendly owner

Fijne plek

I have had both breakfast (bananapancakes) and lunch (black bean soup and spinach bowl) here now, and can say I really like the place. Not only a fully vegan food menu, but also very tasty and very healthy food! In the late afternoon they also have take away dinner that I will definitely will give a try soon. One thing though: the place is still not fully vegan since the cappuccino's and latte's are made with cows milk...

Pros: healthy, tasty

Cons: still cow's milk used in coffees

Breakfast is a blast

My friend and I ate here twice on one day: we had breakfast and later we came back for lunch. Breakfast made me very happy: I had the pindakaasfeestje (peanutbutter party). And oh boy, it was a party. Also very good chai lattes and pies. The service was very friendly, funny and helpfull.

Pros: Peanutbutter, Service is very good, Delicious food

First visit was refreshing and delicious!

I have been to the place that was here before (Baklust) and tried out this new place with a friend since I heard good talks about Quinta Verde. From the quick chat we had with her we can say the owner is a really sweet girl that took the time to help us.

We ordered the bread with chucrute and a lentils soup after we asked the owner what she'd recommend. The soup was really great! It had all kind of flavours that came together all nicely, if you are into an Indian style flavoured soup you definitely should check this one out. The chucrute was also a great choice, it was a great combination of pumpkin, vegetables and spices mix that really surprised me.

Unfortunately we did not try any of the cakes but we will definitely be coming back for those as they were looking really good (a variation of chocolate, raw carrot pie and orange pie)!

Pros: great service, excellent combination of ingredients, good variation in pies

vegan (but with options to add tuna and egg!)

food was good but a strange concept. Lots of bread/bruschetta type dishes and soups etc. Friendly service. But, they say all vegan but 'to add extra flavour why not add tuna, egg, cheese etc!', which seems pointless as it would be really easy to not have this and be completely vegan!

disappointing lunch

This lunch place stands in the location that used to be Baklust. We went, not realizing Baklust has closed.
While the new place is friendly and has had a refresh on paint work etc the food was not as good in the previous place. This version has retained the idea of aiming at veggie customers but it was disappointing.
We ordered a mushroom and bean open sandwich with rocket today and requested GF bread.
It was okay but had a lot of beans and rocket and not much flavour.

Pros: They offer GF bread and dairy alternatives.

Cons: Sadly they have tuna on the menu now.

Almost vegan

Quinta Verda has a vegan menu but with the option to add egg, cheese or tuna to ones dish. So it is not completely vegan unfortunatly.
The food is healthy, good but not very special and I missed the more unhealthy things in the menu such as cake with cream and vegan burgers or something like that but that is a matter of taste of course. But it is a nice place and vegans can choose from the complete menu.

Pros: vegans can choose everything from the menu

Cons: no unhealthy stuff ?
