love quiksands - Edit
they always have atleast 2 vegan soups...best split pea ever!! and a vegan oat date walnut bread which you can by the loaf. vegan chocolate cupcakes...and 2 vegan salads, fruit salad being one of them. keep in mind the jicima salad has HONEY...so if you are strict vegan, don't get that salad, even though they're known for how awesome it is. they always have another vegan salad with homemade vegan dressing. also, best hummus and flatbread in town. cheap too! go here if you can't make it to green downtown.
Pros: cheap, best hummus, split pea rules!

Good Food, Friendly People! - Edit
We actually found this place on the HappyCow site in a Google search for "healthy food, san antonio." The first thing we noticed when we walked into Quicksands is how super-friendly the staff was. They walked us through several of the menu items, since we had never eaten there before. The menu was very creative, it really had something for everyone; vegetarians, health-conscious, and meat-eaters alike. The food was delicious! The soups were tasty, the entrees were fresh and very flavorful, and the strawberry-jicama salad is definitely a favorite!
Pros: Good Food, Friendly People
Cons: None (only it's a bit of a drive for us)

Healthy; helpful employees; vegan options - Edit
I love this place! You get great value for your money -- all the entrees I have ordered also come with a cup of soup, a salad, AND a thick slice of freshly baked bread. I let the staff know I was vegan when I came in, and they pointed me towards all my options and were extremely knowledgeable about their menu items/knowing what was vegan. Some things I highly recommend include the strawberry-jicama salad, date bread, and sweet potato bread. I've also tried a yummy hummus appetizer with pita-type bread for dipping and it comes with the soup, salad, and fresh bread too. Additionally, they serve wraps called "quicksands," for which you choose the toppings. TVP, tofu, and hummus are among the selections for these wraps. They've had multiple vegan salads and vegan soups each time I ate there, and I always come away feeling full and satisfied from a healthy meal -- they really give you a ton of food!
Pros: Helpful employees, Yummy soups, bread, and salad, Generous portions
Cons: I'm not sure they have vegan desserts

Love it! - Edit
This place is really good. They always have this really good strawberry-jicama salad that is AMAZING. They also serve some incredible soups, and complimentary bread. My friend and I are both vegetarians and love coming here. They always answer my questions about the food, and even gave my mom one of their recipes once. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend!!
Pros: very healthy, delicious food, light/relaxing environmen
Cons: Menu hard to figure out.
