Reduced vegan options- speak to staff!

A couple of years ago we were delighted about the vegan options however today there’s a sign on the menu saying ‘all fried food is cooked in beef dripping’. Asked the staff member and was told chips can be fried separately in veg oil if requested, and the Quorn sausage is vegetarian as it’s cooked in the grill not fried. A quick google shows Quorn sausages contain egg? We asked the staff member if they contain egg and they were unsure.

Pros: Was told the chips are fried separately

Cons: Staff vague when asked about the options , Rude to eachother, not professional -rude gestures

Not vegan

I came here because they have Quorn sausages, chips and mushy peas. However ALL food is fried in beef dripping so a zero rating for zero options

Chips no longer vegan

All chips are now fried in beef dripping. The only place I found that uses veg oil is Mr Chips.

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: No vegan options.

Very accommodating

Although the menu states the that all food is cooked in beef fat, you can request veg oil for vegan items and they will do that for you.
Had a couple of vegan options, good as a place to go if you are with a mixed group that wants decent fish and chips.
Falafel burger was tasty, chips were well cooked and onion rings were nice and crispy!

Pros: Accommodating to vegan needs

Cons: Limited choice

Good food, a bit pricey

If you want the battered quorn I think you need to take away, sadly it was raining so we ate in the restaurant and it was only possible to order the Vegan Fillet or a falafel burger.
That was okay but I was thinking I would be able to have a fish and chips experience.

Tasty chips

Just had some chips with a side portion of mushy peas. They use veg oil and the chips were crispy and not soggy at all. Watch out for the seagulls. I got mugged from behind as I wandered out. Humans’ fault for taking their fish and forcing them to scavenge.

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and good service

Could be more vegan options but was very happy just to find a fish and chip place with vegan options on the menu. Food was good and restaurant has a nice atmosphere

Pros: Chips and mushy peas , Nice atmosphere , Vegan dessert

Cons: Not many vegan options , Had run out of quorn sausages

Barely any vegan options

There weren’t very many vegan options; one starter (buffalo cauliflower), one main (falafel burger), a couple of sides and two desserts (both biscoff stuff) along with one kid’s option (quorn sausage and chips). I got the falafel burger which was ok but it didn’t blow me away.

The staff also seemed a little confused, bringing the table next to us their drinks twice, then forgetting ours and messing our order up. They then also didn’t tweak my little brother’s order as we asked them to, so we ended up having to eat ours well before his came.

Pros: Nice atmosphere

Cons: Lack of vegan options

Do not eat the chips

Chips labelled as vegan, cooked in vegetable oil, but upon further enquiry the chips are cooked in the same oil as the fish (cross-contamination). Fish also cooked above and fish fat drips into chip fryer.
Chips therefore not vegan - AVOID

Pros: “Vegan” options…

Cons: Chips are masquerading as vegan when they aren’t

Seaside chips!

Serve up chips in vegetable oil! They were good chunky chips, crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside!
Also, the Irish Curry sauce is vegan and it was delicious.
