清連素食, or Green Lotus, is a vegetarian eatery in the center of Dunhuang near Commercial Street (Shazhou Night Market). The menu is in Chinese, but the owner speaks English. Note that honey may be in the desserts, so check. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-11:00pm.

Delicious - Edit
I went with a friend and we ordered a few things. We had a big soup for both of us, some bamboo sprouts, some Seitan with greens and some baos with cabbage it was really good. More expensive than other Chinese places but definitely worth it.

I found the food excellent, the atmosphere very nice and the place quite hygienic in general. Tea options are very nice, too. I also got some take-away snacks for my train trip.
Read moreIt looks strange from the outside, kind of like it's been abandoned, but completely different inside.
Staff was very nice and also helped me to find some vegan bread nearby (communication was in Chinese though, probably not much English spoken here).
Pros: excellent food, very convenient location
Cons: a bit expensive, but still decent value-for-money

The food I ordered was all very good and full of flavour! A must go if you visit the city. It is easy to find on the walking streets, show the Chinese name of the place to people and they will show you the way if you are lost. The service was very polite although not much English was spoken. The menu had photos of the dishes.
