What a lovely place! - Edit
I had the shredded burdock rice roll, which was already good enough, but what really sold me was the medium-spiced braised stinky tofu. It was delicious! I was afraid of having went too far with the spiciness and it was also the first time I dared to try stinky tofu, but the spiciness only really kicked in at the beginning and got stable as I kept on eating and the taste of the stinky tofu is basically quite what you would expect from the smell but without it being overbearing. I wondered if they might make it less spicy or less stinky for non-Taiwanese people, as they receive tourists all year round and in general we might not tolerate them as well as we'd like, but even if that came to be the case, the food was still truly good and the owners were very nice and attentive, so I can't recommend it enough!

Amazing price value - Edit
We had the brown rice bowl with toona ( plant) and a veggie chicken roll with lemon and chili with brown rice as well as a bottle of kombucha made in chishang! It was so good we ordered another of the rolls! Super sweet owner who didn’t think we could eat that much but it was just delicious. Everything is locally farmed and home made. 100% recommend!

cosy little shop - Edit
Cosy little shop selling a variety of sushi rolls, noodles and rice items. Tried their signature smelly tofu soup and it was very flavourful. Shop is located 5 mins walking distance from train station.

Pure taste of nature in a warm ambience - Edit
When we walked inside we were welcomed with a warm smile by the owners and their cat outside. One of the owners spoke surprisingly fluent english which made it easy for her to give us recommendations. As foreigners to the Asian cuisine we wanted to try out new dishes and ordered the:
Read more- noodles with Chinese Toon Sauce (10/10!)
- seaweed filled roll with black rice, corn and veggie chicken (9/10)
- medicinal broth soup (6/10, it was too bland for me)
- iced black tea with lemon (10/10)
- freshly squeezed orange juice (9/10)
My wife was so in love with the noodles with sauce that the owners offered us to make it for takeaway 30 minutes before opening hours on the day after, because we were taking an early train!
Anyone that would like to try out original dishes with a pure and natural taste should go here and support the business these lovely people run.
Pros: The pure taste of the food, The hospitality of the owners
Cons: Not everything on their menu was available, Relatively short opening hours compared to others

Excellent place, great food. - Edit
A space and menu reflecting the owner’s personality and warmth. The food is nourishing and uses local ingredients. The rice fields are just down the road! I had two hand made sushi rolls (the long type). These include freshly-cooked ingredients, such as plant-chicken, so don’t be put off when your rolls are lovingly delivered warm.

Delightful atmosphere and delicious food - Edit
I'm so glad we stopped here for lunch. We ordered 2 types of sushi rolls (one with peppers and the other with chikin), a Chinese toon pancake, and mulberry tea, and everything was so delicious! The ingredients are fresh and locally-sourced and the mulberry tea is some of the best we've ever had. The owner is really nice and the atmosphere is like being in someone's home. He was playing some classic American blues music and even had a record player there. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous little restaurant - Edit
We were welcomed in at about 6pm on a Saturday evening and were surprised to see we were the only customers. It got busier throughout the evening though and there was a nice buzz when we left.
Read moreThe menu is on a big laminated card and you tick the options you want, and it also makes it easy to see what menu items are unavailable. We braved the stinky tofu side dish alongside the tofu skin curry and a fake chicken seaweed roll.
It was our first time trying stinky tofu and this was a nice place to try it, but we were still a bit unsure when we finished, though it was nicer with the broth than just by itself. This isn't a mark against the restaurant though.
The other two things were fantastic. The curry had a wonderful flavour that was somewhere between a Japanese curry and a Thai curry. The seaweed roll took a while to come because it takes a bit more prep, so don't fret if it hasn't arrived when you've finished eating your other dishes. The roll was really good too.
The staff were very friendly and we felt incredibly welcome.
Pros: Very friendly service, Delicious curry

Beautiful little restaurant with amazing food - Edit
They have an expanded menu of faux meat dishes, noodles, rice, and braised stinky tofu dishes. Dishes with egg/milk are clearly labelled. You order at the counter and pay first. Utensils are self-serve. I got a big bowl of stinky tofu with oil noodles, which were the perfect texture and chew in a rich broth. They can adjust the spiciness for you. The space can get crowded, so arrive early. Food does take time to be served, so plan accordingly.

homey food in little town - Edit
My go-to vegetarian resto in the tiny town of Chihshang. I usually got their seaweed rice rolls for lunch or on the go while biking around town. Their stinky tofu noodles were tasty and full of flavour. The owner was very friendly and you can tell she is committed to promoting vegetarian food through her little resto. Feel free to tell her your dietary requests and shes more than happy to accommodate. If you want some homey food, this is the place.
