£8 for entry is fair considering the upkeep of a cafe that has cats and looking after them. Once inside however the first thing I noticed was how expensive the menu was. We went for food anyway expecting it to be above average due to the price. We ordered the vegan pancakes and pizza - the pancakes were tasty with vegan bacon but we’re comparable to McDonald’s pancakes, except these were £7 and the pizza seemed like it had been microwaved for £9. Based on this it makes me feel suspicious. I wish they would charge more on entry and keep the food costs fair. The staff were approachable and friendly. The cats were very sedate, I left the experience with my partner feeling weird about it (having been to a different cat cafe before in the past ) I had gone to give some love to the cats but the nicest thing you could do is leave them alone, they are touched day in day out, and seemed over stimulated by the cafe and music. As a vegan and cat lover I left questioning the ethical implications of running business off of non consenting animals. I’m sure they are given space in the back and good food etc but you cant help but wonder.

Accidental Dairy. - Edit
8/10 times the cat cafe is great. It’s simple food and tasty drinks and there are a fair amount of vegan options for both. I used to go fairly regularly with my dad, but they gave me dairy ice cream instead of the vegan ice cream I requested, I didn’t notice until after the first mouthful… I’m vegan, but also lactose intolerant AND allergic to dairy (It’s stupid, I know). I understand accidents happen, and the server was clearly upset by her mistake, I felt bad for having to let her know. But I was sick for more than two days after this, even though it was only one mouthful. I’ve been too scared to go back since.

Important information wasn't made easily accessible as it should have been on the websites main page and not tucked away in the [help] folder and under FQA.
Information such as the socks and shoes situation: No, you are not able to wear your shoes during your visit and will be asked to remove them at the door. And if you come unprepared and have no socks and feel uncomfortable walking barefoot then there are socks available for purchase which costs £3.95 for 1 pair.
The website itself lacks some serious info and can give off a false expectation on the money you are about to spend.
Welfare costs are £8 per person on weekdays and £10 per person on weekends (excluding members.) This payment only secures your table. After some research I found that they used to charge £5 per head which is much more reasonable considering you are going into the cafe to spend money on food and drink (and perhaps merchandise)
My other concern is why should you pay per person in your group to obtain 1 table? Why not charge as a group for the spot?
Now I am not against the welfare in the slightest as it helps look after the lovely feline residents (paying for their food, toys, vet bills etc).
All I am saying is that it shouldn't have taken me an email and some digging to find this out.
The Purple Cat Cafe isn't the sort of place for a spontaneous breakfast/ lunch as you aren't made aware of how much you will be spending until you enter and are seated. This is all fine and well if you are in a comfortable position with money and are fine with being hit with a £8/£10 entry charge not including your food and drinks.
Overall it was a wonderful experience and I do believe there should be more places like this all over as it provides a sort of sensory therapy. There are hanging fairy lights, soft music playing and furry little friends roaming the cafe. Lets face it who wouldn't be happy with that?
My only advice to future customers is that you know that you will be spending quite a bit of money so make sure you are prepared for the bill at the end of your visit. For a party of 3 I personally spent over £55 in total for 2 coffees, 1 coke, 2 cakes, a brownie and a pair of socks.
The staff were friendly and helpful which was a bonus.
We will be going back in the future just need to save up first.

Missing our two cats at home and wanting a "fix," my husband and I went to the Purple Cat Cafe for breakfast one day during our visit to Glasgow. They have 29 friendly felines there who are excited to play, cuddle, and nap with visitors.

The non-dairy cappuccinos we ordered were delicious, and the vegan cheese grilled cheeses were your standard cafe fare. While the cats here aren't up for adoption, the Purple Cat Cafe does support CATFLAP, a local cat rescue organization.
If you visit, be sure to book ahead online because slots fill up often.

Lovely break from reality - Edit
I ve bern there few times and like spending lunch break in it every now and than. Food is good cats are healthy and serm happy and one can switch off for an an hour or two. Weirdly enough I took there two kiddos one ar 10 one ar 16 and both loved it. Which happens like never 😂

Happy cats and expanding vegan menu - Edit
Such a homely and cozy café. Me and my partner have quickly become regulars visiting every week. The cats are very social and well taken care of and the staff is knowledgeable and generally lovely. Have been visiting since early January and their vegan selection is constantly expanding. Currently there are multiple vegan light snacks (including cheese toastie) and lunch options as well as raw cakes and a banana muffin. Staff is very accommodating to vegans and have repeatedly expressed aspirations to slowly replace their dishes containing animal products with vegan versions.

Amazing Vegan French Toast! - Edit
This is the best cat cafe I’ve been to, as the staff are super friendly and the cats are really playful! Vegan options include French toast, sandwiches, soups and amazing coffees made with oat milk. Definitely recommend!
