Verry friendly service. The tacos are very good. We tried 3 kinds, and the soy based was our favorite. If you are a big eater, you probably won't have enough with just 3 tacos. The burrito was really good and a big portion, with a side salad. The loaded tortillas as a starter were really good seasoned and with creamy guacamole and vegan cheese sauce. The only downside is the wait for the food, but it's worth the wait.

A Rare Find With Decent Food - Edit
Authentic Mexican food is rare to find in Europe, so finding an entirely vegan restaurant is worth the visit.
Read moreThe restaurant was mostly empty, since we went as soon as they opened for that day. This means I can‘t speak about service and atmossphere when it‘s full, but we‘ve had a great time, felt cared for and found the server incredibly friendly. It felt like we were guests in someone‘s home, which is a good thing.
We‘ve had nachos, tacos and barbecue tempeh. The latter contributes to my rating, because the sauce was too sweet for me and just off. Everything else was great, but I‘m a fan of consistency and if one dish missed its mark, that‘s a big minus for me unfortunately.
I do still encourage people to go, because everything else was enjoyable and maybe the recipe was changed in the meantime.

2 hour wait for food while we were starving. And my meal (tacos) were only a bit less expensive than the burrito but was way way smaller. The food was mediocre as well. They kept letting people in to eat all the while no one had their food yet. Absolutely wild

Read moreIt took almost an hour to get our loaded nachos! And then about 1 hr 35 minutes for our mains. Everyone was waiting a super long time and some people even left. The servers weren't very accommodating, just said "oh it is Saturday night" and when we were paying the bill they offered us a free drink - but that's a bit late so we didn't take. Offer it during the 90 minute wait!
Food was decent, but not particularly great, and definitely not worth such a long wait. We had the loaded nachos, burrito bowls with pastor, and tacos (€1 for avocado PER taco!). Disclaimer that I've had tacos in Mexico so perhaps my bar is a bit high!
Perhaps during the week it is a better balance of wait versus quality!

Tex Mex in Antwerp! - Edit
Pura Vida stands out as making pretty great tacos and more! (It's getting a little easier to find decent Tex-Mex cuisine in Europe, but most options are still pretty bad.) It always "hits the spot" every time we've visited. It'd give it five stars, but the service always seems a little overwhelmed.

Very happy to learn that a vegan taqueria existed in Belgium! I would love one in Brussels though, but it's a small country after all 😁 We ate tacos and a gringa, both were delicious. The tacos were cold-ish, I don't know if it was supposed to be, but it didn't bother me that much. I just wish they had more non-spicy options, but that's a personal preference. Also, it was winter, and we were a bit cold inside, as were the people at the table next to us, some were even wearing their coats inside. BUT the food was really, really good, so it really outweighs the negative I've just listed. I recommend this place. We went on a Saturday around 1pm and we easily found a table.

I've been here three times now. The first time it was still new I guess. It was cozy, quiet, we didn't have to wait long, it was good and the staff was friendly. The second time it was so loud we decided to eat outside even though it rained. We had to wait longer, the staff was less friendly, but the food was still exceptional. The third time however, we made a reservation at half past six. The staff didn't believe I made a reservation and I had to show the confirmation text message I received before I got my table. Then after we ordered we waited and waited and waited. At twenty past seven I asked how long our food would take. The guy would check with the kitchen but we never saw him again. The other staff member that made a problem about our reservation came to check at half past seven and asked if we needed to go to the theater or something... I said no, we have just been waiting for almost an hour now. He was pretty rude again but the food would be there in a minute. When at a quarter to seven we still hadn't seen our food, while we had seen two tables come and go we decided to leave. Of course that same guy told us the food was just ready. I don't believe that. He told us we could have the food for free... I said I only wanted to pay for our cokes in any case. We paid and still never got our food of course. And i wasn't going to beg for it either. Let them keep it. We got an insincere apology with an excuse that the other tables got their food first because they had to go to the theater. It would have been nice if they had communicated that with us instead of just ignoring us. Never going back there. We went to Kwat instead and there we got our food after ten minutes.

Went here for my birthday and it was sooo good! The margaritas tased perfect and the food was amazing to. It’s not expensive, it’s a nice down to earth place. You do have to work to get the server’s attention 😅

The menu contains different vegan versions of Mexican food. It is also possible to choose between a base (like taco, gringa) and some filling (like tempeh and homemade seitan). Ingredients include cashew-based cheese as well, and staff was friendly. Most of all, my gringa with tempeh was not too spicy (for someone could be negative, but maybe the gringa was not supposed to be spicy).

Amazingly tasty tacos - Edit
The tacos were the best I've had since going vegan. Especially the one with the jackfruit. Though sometimes it took a while to take our order, the food was quick and the staff was super friendly. Do recommend this place!

Read moreThe service was awesome at the beginning but at some point we were forgotten and had to look for the waiter and chase him to ask for another drink and dessert after we waited for a long time. The place was almost empty.
But that doesn't change my 5 stars rating because despite it I had a great experience, the food was awesome, the cocktails too, and it was a fully vegan place.
Edit: I can't change the text in the pictures but the tacos were nor Carnistas but Chicharrón.

Well designed place which creates a trendy, vibrant atmosphere. Plenty of outdoor seating in an area with a few other restaurants. Food is very good. We tried a number of dishes and they were flavoursome. It’s Mexican/South American cuisine. The dishes are slightly more on ‘fast food side’ of the spectrum. Great place. I’d visit it again.

Pura Vida was a lovely introduction to Antwerp. The weather was lovely, and we had our lunch in the outside seating area right next to the Saturday market. We got our food in 10 minutes, but the bigger parties around us had to wait for a good while though. Everything was tasty, and the vibe was great, with a big, adorable dog hanging around the restaurant as well. Maybe not the cleanest and most professional vibe, but a filling, tasty lunch, nonetheless.

Food: The food itself had faint tastes and was badly presented to us. With very few colours, a lack of vegetables (tip: grilled pepper, tomata salsa), spirit and originality. Also because of the sad salad with only a piece of cucumber, some iceberg salad, a slice of tomato and a little shoot of olive oil. Five small nacho chips, while they were mentioned separately on the menu.

Service: To our normal question while arriving by getting an approach to how much it would take until we got our food, the guy reacted to us as if we said something totally misplaced. In the end we had to wait more than three quarters for our food, while he said 20-30 minutes.
The man that served us also didn't show a lot of interest in feedback when we told him we didn't like it so much. While paying in the end to the other server, she asked us further info when we told her it didn't taste us as much. That was nice!

As a starter, we had the loaded nachos to share. As a main we had the burrito bowl, the burrito and the mozzarella crispy chicken burger. For dessert we had the burritos. Everything was delicious! Great atmosfere too!
