Excellent desserts! 4 1/2 - Edit
We booked a table online and tried punk pasta for dinner. We ordered the bruschetta for an entree. This is one of the best bruschettas ever. the bruschetta had beans on top and was full of flavour. Next we had the main dishes. I ordered the vegan meatballs. The meatballs were tasty but I think there could have been a bit more flavour in the sauce. My partner had the hemp spaghetti and it got a bit tasteless towards the end. I ordered the passionfruit panacotta. It was lovely. The panacotta was a perfect texture too. My partner had the apple and berry crumble and really enjoyed it
Read moreI thought the entree and the deserts were amazing. I don’t think the mains lived up to those levels. But still very nice. Would give 4 1/2 if I could

Punk Pasta - Edit
We came in with very low expectations since pasta places usually disappoint and came away very surprised. My non-vegan dining partner was even impressed. My favorite was the hemp pasta followed by my dining partners pesto pasta. My only feedback is the hard vegan cheese on top is not great, so I'll be sure to ask them to exclude it next time.

Finally, egg-free fresh pasta - Edit
I have somewhat missed fresh pasta since going vegan. Enter Punk Pasta! What a great business idea. Done with inspiration and care, meals are tasty, fresh and adventurous.
Read moreI have ordered the magic mushroom pasta, and the member of staff we chatted to said that was their favourite, too.
2-for-1 cocktails during happy hour? Yes, please!
Some of the friendliest restaurant staff I have ever encountered.
And, they played some great music like Echo & The Bunnymen.
I will be back for more.

Good Vegan Pasta Place! - Edit
Tasty pasta! Portions were okay for the price but felt they could have been bigger didn't leave entirely full but satisfied none the less. Went on a Thursday and the atmosphere was good, the staff were friendly but not that attentive. Would recommend as a whole.

Really great vegan takes on traditional pasta dishes - Edit
I had the spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were great, defo actually made by the chefs and not store bought (I'd defo tell😂). Downside is just that it's slightly expensive for the portion size.

So good to get punk’d - Edit
The pasta dishes are marvelous. The pasta are precisely cooked and the sauces perfectly simmered for flavor and taste. Appetizers and deserts are also great and comforting. Plenty of space inside the restaurant. The decoration set the tone and the unassuming but extremely nice and effective goes perfectly along with it.

Mushroom pasta is the bomb! - Edit
The magic mushroom pasta was the best pasta dish I had in the UK.

great food, a bit performative - Edit
i had a great whole wheat spaghetti with meatballs here and really enjoyed the deserts as well. the staff was nice and the atmosphere was generally vibey.
Read morethe restaurant has a lot of climate/activist symbols and messaging on its walls, but seemingly only for aesthetics. besides the fact that they are vegan, they don’t really seem to be that engaged.
would still recommend them to anyone looking for something vegan in london though!

Pros: lots of choices, different pasta types, fresh pasta (!)
Cons: not living up to the “punk” in the name, on the expensive side

Mixed - Edit
Food was good but the waiter (owner’s son) talking about the dead bodies he likes to eat put me off. I think the ownership/staff team needs to watch dominion or something to understand how some of their customers feel about meat/dairy. No vegan wants to hear from the restaurant staff that the food would be better if it was covered in ‘real’ cheese. He seemed young and I appreciate the all vegan menu which is why I haven’t rated lower.

Interesting part of town - Edit
Extremely nice part of town in walking distance f/ King's Cross Station. Very interesting brutalistic architecture. Friendly staff, good food, good coffee. "Bread" = french bread, i.e., bread is already soaked full of oil plus extra oil on the side (U.S. style), so order slowly.

Their pasta is really punk - Edit
I’ve waited for a quite a long time to try this place but it luckily live up to expectations.
Read moreFirst of all, the staff was extremely kind and very helpful with my sensitivities. The atmosphere of the place what makes the experience really punk.
I tried their mushroom pasta and it was a whole new level of vegan pasta. It wasn’t the boring, bland tomato or cream saucey staff you usually get as vegan in other restaurant and it is definetely worth the visit! Especially lunch time when they have a lunch offer which you definetely don’t wanna miss.
The only negative I can come up with is the portion size which is on the small side, so don’t expect to be totally full when you finish.

Best vegan pasta ever! - Edit
Probably the best vegan pasta I have ever had. The trio of coral pasta was amazing. The dip starter had a brilliantly thought out pea and lime and coriander dip, so fresh! Great cocktails. Friendly, happy staff.

Creative pastas and lovely service - Edit
I really enjoyed the pasta here, my absolute favourite being the mushroom pappardelle. The meatballs were decent but i would try something over them next time, and i really enjoyed the cheesy garlic bread. The staff were exceptionally friendly and i liked that it was open all day so we could go at off peak times.

I ordered the alglio olio spinach pasta and felt like it could be better. Maybe because the pasta was spinach but the texture was off and it overall needed some more flavor.

What a surprise! - Edit
Went to this place as HappyCow showed it’s the closest vegan restaurant from Russell Square - didn’t expect it to be so good! The pasta tasted so fresh and was full of flavour, with really nice vegan cheese on top! They serve freshly made green juices too.

Disappointing - Edit
I don’t know if I came on an off night, but the food was just bad: pasta was nowhere near al dente and was quite tasteless. Mushroom pasta was the better option, but still extremely soft. Expensive, too, and corny decor. Waitstaff were very kind.

Delicious pasta! - Edit
Following their vegan transformation, we paid our first visit to Punk Pasta yesterday.
Read moreTo start, we had cheesy garlic bread and cannellini bean bruschetta - both great, but the stand out for me was the garlic bread. Followed by Magic Mushrooms - wild mushrooms in white wine sauce on pappardelle topped with a mushroom and turmeric crumble, with a drizzle of truffle oil - delicious!
All topped off with a triple ice cream sundae with chocolate, hazelnut and vanilla ice cream, and a good organic white wine.
They seemed a little short staffed, particularly towards the end of the night, when one person valiantly dealt with multiple tables. Great artwork on the walls - it felt a little bright, perhaps because it’s a very open space - I’m sure they’ll need a few more tables as more people learn about this place.
Pros: Delicious pasta, Good value, Friendly waiting staff
