Awesome vegan breakfast sandwiches - Edit
Vegan sausage or bacon, though they often don't have the bacon. I've probably had a couple dozen of these and I don't live nearby. The only other thing I've had on the menu so far is the vegan meatball sandwich, and it was pretty great too.

Good for the neighborhood - Edit
Pumpernickel's is a nice choice for vegans who crave something for lunch while in this neighborhood. Expect your standard fake meat sandwiches like a "chicken philly" and "grilled cheese." The bagels are pretty good for the D.C. area and you can get Tofutti! Lots of options if you are in the mood for deli-style eating, including traditional side salads, veganized. If you really want soy pizza, this is a decent option in the area, not fabulous, a bit greasy, but sometimes, you just gotta have it! There are a couple of non-fake-meat/dairy options too. Pretty good overall if you're in the neighborhood, but perhaps unlikely that anyone would go out of his/her way for vegan deli food at Pumpernickel's.
