I was rolling through town and was looking forward to trying Pulse.
Read moreGot there when they opened at 11 and theres a sign that says NO pizza untill 3....which also included calzones and garlic knots.
I even tried to check their social media for any updated changes(which hasnt been updated sinc July...REALLY?), because I run into stuff like this a a lot while trying to try places on Happy Cow.
Well, I cant wait all day for pizza do I tried some premade stuff from the fridge. Had to try some of it cold cuz I was hungry and will be on the road for 3 hours.
Stuff was kinda meh, maybe cuz it was cold. The chickn salad was WAY TOO much mayo for my liking.
Anyway, I may try again in the future if Im ever in the area...but Id call first for sure before making a special trip !!!!

Great vegan cafe just outside of Northampton - Edit
We ordered an assortment of things, including garlic knots, the hummus platter, a pepperoni pizza, and macaroni and cheese and everything was delicious. The wood-fired pizza was fantastic. We also enjoyed a turmeric latte, smoothie, and raspberry lemonade. They have a great little vegan food shop too.

So happy we found Pulse Cafe! Vegan family of 5 all enjoyed a delicious lunch and desserts. Great service, fair prices and fresh food. The market is small but has lots of unique items. Will definitely be back.

Great find for everyone - Edit
I went here for my birthday with two family members. I am the only vegan. The menu was so diverse we all got something we enjoyed. I got the Vida Bowl. The others got Grilled Chicken Burrito and Roasted Eggplant Calzone. We also got Almond Joy Smoothies. The meals were enough to take home half. I can’t wait to come back and try so many other things on the menu.

As the title says.. the first vegan restaurant I ever went to. And what an incredible start, this place has been around for years and constantly making incredible vegan food. I have never left feeling disappointed. The burrito is my go to! Grab a smoothie too!

I was in the area and stopped here for a late lunch. I had the roasted eggplant calzone and the Pina colada smoothie. The calzone and smoothie were huge! The meal was tasty and filling. I got a chocolate chip cookie and a drink from the refrigerator to go. Both were nice treats the next day.

I loved the vibes and the food both. The staff was so helpful as this was my first time. I had the Mac and cheese and tumeric latte with chocolate mousse. Everything was amazing! The moose was rich so sharing it was totally fine. So yummy!

Everything was amazing and I cannot wait to come back! The breakfast burrito, eggplant calzone, caesar salad, and garlic knots were so delicious. The garlic knots didn't have much garlic but were still very good.

I Have Better Food At Home - Edit
It’s always exciting to visit a fully vegan restaurant. First off, I will say it’s too expensive. I paid $50 (before tip) for three things, which is definitely a steep price and isn’t really accessible to the community.
Read moreBecause of the higher price point, other good reviews, and the business’s overall professionalism, I had high hopes & standards that were not met. The presentation of all of the food was amazing but the flavor was lacking.
The pizza is fine and definitely passable. The dough was a little dense/doughy but the flavor was there and the pie did satisfy my craving. I would have loved more char/texture in the buffalo chicken and the crust. Maybe if it was cooked a little more? Or maybe I’m just so used to New Haven style pizza. I would be open to trying their other pies. For overall better vegan pizza, go to Vegan Pizza Land in Easthampton, MA.
The mac & cheese definitely left a lot to be desired. My first bite was a huge letdown. I literally said “come on man.” 😂 I really wanted it to be good! It had almost no flavor or salt whatsoever, just a faint smokiness. Most of the flavor came from the BBQ sauce on the tempeh, which was an addition that I requested. The tempeh appeared as if they just poured a little sauce on some slices of tempeh and called it a day. Some caramelization on the tempeh would have done wonders. This dish really disappointed me because I made a fantastic mac and “cheese” this weekend at home and this didn’t even come close. I had some leftover “cheese” sauce in my fridge, and when I added it to my leftovers, it completely changed the game!
I found the cheesecake to be a bit grainy in texture and not as sweet/decadent as I would have liked. It tasted “healthier,” which is not always a bad thing, just not what I was expecting. I would have liked for this to have more flavor as well. They had a few beautifully-piped cupcakes that I did not try because the flavors seemed a little basic to me (ex: chocolate/vanilla).
My visit here fell short of perfection. I came in feeling inspired and left thinking about how I would make improvements on every thing I tried. I have worked in kitchens my whole life and I think I will come back and try again, just to see if today was just an off day for them. I really have heard great things about this place. I wanted it to be delicious and I really do wish the best for this business. I will say that they have an entirely vegan market/grocery which is a huge plus in my book.

Loved this cute restaurant with hot food prepared on the spot and some prepared foods and other goodies to bring home! Their desserts were so good and my favorite dish was the Mac and cheez! I saw there was a soup bar there too which would be really cool to try next time!

This is my "go-to" vegan place whenever I want to eat vegan. Food is absolutely delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The bowls are one of my favorites and I sometimes will pick up a delicious smoothie on the run! The warm orzo latte is my favorite in the cool months and the chai chaga iced latte is my awesome hot summer drink!! Living on a fixed income my only con would be the prices. But like everything else it's the cost of doing business in these times and the cost of eating healthy unfortunately.

I was in the area and so happy to see an all vegan cafe. They had an extensive menu for Sunday brunch, in addition to a desert case. They also had some snacks in the cafe and a small refrigerator for grab and go items. I ordered the tofu scramble to go. The best part was the roasted potatoes. The tofu scramble could’ve been more spiced, it was somewhat bland. The veggie sausage was just okay. Overall was pleased with the meal just a little underwhelming.

Favorite Vegan Place - Edit
Whenever I’m in Western Mass this is my top and favorite place to go! The menu is so vast, has something for whatever your craving! The menu items are also customizable! The portions are large, I’m always taking my food home which lasts 1-2 more meal times! Love it here!

Vegan Heaven, Almost - Edit
Strategically located between the two neighborly college towns of Northampton and Amherst, this palatial restaurant evokes the welcoming experience of a college dining hall. With the food all vegan and its diverse ethnic clientele either veg or leaning, I adored this café from the moment I drove down the long driveway set so far back off Route 9 that the motorized hum of that busy highway was barely audible from its spacious parking lot. Indeed, while dining outdoors seated on the sturdy all-season stone tables, rather than car traffic we heard the songs of red-winged blackbirds perched atop native cattails (no invasive phragmites here!) on the surrounding marshland that buffers this restaurant from the hubbub of civilization.

(If you happen not to order a Burger, do get the Potatoes as Small Plates.) The Black Bean Burger is noteworthy, but can greatly benefit by if its spongiform white flour “artisan” bun were upgraded to whole grain. The rest of the menu of Pizzas, Bowls, and Salads consists mostly of wholesome foods, but is sullied by the Burger added choice of the two leading brands of industrialized mock meat burgers suitable only for omnivores who wish they were vegans, and for vegans who wish they weren’t. If Pulse dropped these noxious ultra-processed nonfood burgers from the menu, this “Vegan Heaven, Almost” could ascend to truly “Vegan Heaven.”
Easily overlooked because it is located in an adjoining room, the Juice Bar provides nourishing liquid libations to enhance the nourishing solid fare. That day’s two soups-of-the-day, Pea Soup and the Ginger Carrot, both are excellent. In addition to two for dine-in, a wider array of soups awaits you in the takeout fridge. Better still, that fridge offers other side dishes, too. Lucky us, we drove home with takeout Potato Salad to save for later, and it indeed was worthy of savoring as a dessert.
We ate here on a weekday in the summer when the college crowd was largely absent, so the dining areas both indoors and outdoors were roomy and peaceful. I look forward to returning here during the academic year when the crowds and noise level might evoke my nostalgic memories of college dining halls, thus enhancing my culinary experience.
Pros: the ambiance, the wholesome foods, the affordable prices

I would give four and a half stars, if the rating system allowed me to. I was impressed, overall, with the quality of the food, ambience, service and the size of the venue (I don't believe we have any establishment in New York City that comes even close in comparison, to the square footage!) If not for the fact that they offer the Impossible Burger as one of the three burger options, (Beyond and an in-house black bean burger are the other two) I would rate at a full five stars. Heck, I would return here again, and not only that, I would even travel here directly from NYC, if necessary - it's that good.

Food was great. They have a large parking lot. It’s a good size restaurant with a fireplace makes you feel very comfortable. There is an entrance to a walking trail right off the side of the parking lot. I live in Connecticut and took a special trip just to try out this restaurant, I will be returning it is worth the ride.

Some of the best vegan food I've ever found. Made in house, creative and interesting dishes, classics, great salads, super fresh. Their made to go options are awesome. The juices are excellent. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Cafe-style if you want to dine in. Pretty large space, but you can still find a cozy spot to sit, otherwise the large windows make the atmosphere nice and open.
