Zeer relaxte sfeer. Fraaie, gezellige inrichting en vriendelijke bediening. De pizza had vegan kaas en was uit de kunst. Aanrader.

A little weird, but fine - Edit
I was between trying this place and the Arctic Thai place, both of which are part of the Best Western complex. I chose Pub Eden because photos on Happy Cow made me think they had a tempeh dish, but it’s not on the menu anymore. Instead I got a grilled (vegan) cheese that was fine, but kind of weird. It didn’t totally match the description but it was good. They also had a vegan strawberry cake but I didn’t try it. Unfortunately none of the appetizers were vegan, and the only two real choices were vegan cheese based (grilled cheese or pizza). I don’t always love vegan cheese so that’s a bit of a bummer and I kind of wished I had tried the Thai place, but ultimately it was a perfectly fine meal in a place where vegan food is either hard to find or skews overly fancy.

A pizza spoiled by poor crust - Edit
On a freezing evening (12th of October 2024!) with potentially treacherous ice outside the bar’s entrance I needed a (Mariestad) lager a bite to eat after a sometimes skiddy drive on icy roads once in Sweden coming over from Narvik. I ordered a vegetarian version of the vegan pizza. The toppings were fine but the dish was let down by the stiff cardboard like crust.

I really liked the pizza. The pizza salad was also great. They also have other vegan dishes, even a dessert.

Nice popular pub - Edit
There are a few vegan options on the menu and you can also ask for veganizing some meals. I ordered the vegan lasagne with spinach and since there where no vegan dessert options they gave me vegan ice cream. The lasagne was delicious, rather small portion for me though.

Few options, but great Pizza - Edit
Kiruna isn't paradise for vegans, but this place really helps. Finding it is a bit difficult, and upon entering first it's not very inviting. There's a bit of a weird atmosphere. The first member of staff wasn't very nice at all (in fact I don't think he spoke a word to us at all), but then someone else (the manager I think?) took over and he was very nice and attentive to veganism.
Read moreAnyway, there are about 2 to 3 options for vegans. We only tried the vegan pizza, and it was just great. Just a good simple pizza, without the weird stuff that some people think vegans eat. And good vegan cheese as well. They have a proper pizza oven, so the crust comes out perfect too. They also offer all pizzas with gluten free crust.
