Authentic Sri Lankan Food with Many Vegan Options - Edit
It’s a curry buffet with four types of rice and then more than twenty different kinds of curry. everything is delicious. the owner is knowledgeable about vegetarianism and veganism. when i told him i was vegan, he even separated the serving bowls (there were only four) that weren’t vegan to make sure I didn’t accidentally take from them. there was also only one bowl that was spicy, which he made sure to point out as well.
Read moreit’s located in a neighborhood and a little difficult to find. after our dinner, it was very dark, so the owner drove alongside us on his moped all the way back to Tishan Hotel to provide us with light.

Super veel vegan opties! Heerlijk eten - Edit
Super vriendelijke mensen waar je een buffet kunt afnemen waar ze alles in schalen klaarzetten. Als je verteld dat je vegan wilt eten houden ze daar perfect rekening mee en zetten ze er geen vlees bij. Je hebt dan een hele ruime keuze uit heerlijke vegan gerechten.

95% ist Vegan super lecker. Sehr traditionelle Zubereitung auf Holzkohle. Alles wird frisch gekocht und man kann zu jederzeit in die Küche und zuschauen. Hier kocht und arbeitet eine große und sehr nette Familie.

Excellent Sri Lankan curry buffet at a great price - Edit
Came here alone in the early evening and was given a very warm welcome by the family that runs the place. I explained that I was vegan and what I could and could not eat, and they said it would not be a problem.
Read moreEven though I was the only customer, I was given a full buffet of 14 different vegan curries, accompanied by a variety of sides, two kinds of rice, and several desserts that were mostly vegan (excluding only the buffalo milk curd). Curries were made fresh with ingredients grown right there.
Setting was lovely, overlooking a peaceful field in a quiet part of town. The family running it was very friendly and welcoming. They took the time to explain what each curry was made of and assured me that there was no milk, butter, etc. in anything (except the curd, obviously). They even gave me a ride back to my guesthouse after I was done. And the price was surprisingly low for such a huge and satisfying meal.
I would strongly recommend visiting Priyamali Gedara if you're in Polonnaruwa. I would even consider making a detour here to try it, if you've got the chance.
