Nice surprise! - Edit
Surprising to find clearly labeled vegan options at a place with so much meat. The man working was so friendly and knowledgable about what was/wasn’t vegan (the caramelized onions they offer as a topping are not). The cabbage roll and pierogis were super tasty! The condiments on the table could use a cleaning though.

First time eating Polish food so maybe this is normal? Nice that they have plant based choices.

Overrated? - Edit
I was really excited to go here, because it's not often you find vegan pierogis at a restaurant. My friends ordered right after me (the same items, but bigger) and got their food way before me. Their pierogis were lukewarm. When they finally brought out my food, it looked buttered (I made sure to request no butter) so they took it back and brought me another one. Flavor was honestly underwhelming. Maybe my expectations were too high. It was still okay though.

Vegan Pierogi & Cabbage Rolls! - Edit
On a long weekend trip to Door Co, I was searching for vegan options on HappyCow, and was so excited to find this place! I grew up eating these foods during the holidays, and vegan versions are hard to come by even in Chicago.
Read moreThe owner, Krzysztof, took our order and was so friendly and fun to chat with. I ordered both vegan options on the menu - the Saurkraut & Mushroom Pierogi and the Cabbage Roll. He asked me if I was vegan, and said he knows it's becoming more common and makes these items with love.
The pierogi was sprinkled with fresh dill and the saurkraut was so flavorful there was no need for a sauce (though I'd love to see a vegan sour cream side added to the menu!). The cabbage roll was filled with rice, chopped mushrooms, onions, and peppers and the tomato sauce was flavorful and much like the one I remember eating. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!
The only con would be I want them to make more vegan options! Vegan potato and onion pierogi would be amazing.

Just like when I was a girl - Edit
The vegan cabbage rolls remind me of my childhood. In Catholic school we didn’t eat meat on the weekends. My mom would buy a pan of these for the family.

They know what vegan means here! Try the mushroom and sauerkraut pierogi or the vegan cabbage rolls. Both satisfying and delicious. The owner is a funny polish dude named Chris. Say hello from me.

Great options and hours! - Edit
In general, restaurants close fairly early in Door County. It’s nice that this place is open until 8pm every day.
Read moreMy partner and I got takeout from here. We enjoyed both the vegan pierogi and the vegan cabbage rolls. Personally, I thought the cabbage rolls could have had more salt. My partner thought they were well-balanced and tasty. I was a big fan of the pierogi. If I went again, I would probably stick to the pierogi.
Just a note—it sounds like their default is to put [cow] butter on the pierogi. Luckily the owner asked before the chef added the butter. I’d recommend specifying no butter if you order the pierogi.
Pros: Vegan options utilize whole food ingredients, Two entree choices
Cons: I thought the cabbage roll was not salty enough
