Okay

Pret is always great for a coffee and sweet treat but the savoury options seriously are lacking and often the same kind of things. The price makes it even less worth it. This particular Pret is quite cosy upstairs though!

Gone downhill

Visited and sat in. The vegan options were a bit boring, not what they used to be. Baguette with avo, tapenade and tomato was ok. Too much wet something in it had made the bread soggy.
Not great for being Covid secure, lots of people waiting around with no regard for seating area being protected, wouldn’t visit again at the moment.

Pros: Two or three vegan choices, nothing exciting

Cons: Not Covid secure for downstairs seating - avoid

The best coffee chain for vegans

At the time of writing all the soups without meat are vegan. They serve tomato as well as another veggie option that changes daily. A good selection of sandwiches and some amazing sweet snacks - get the vegan almond butter bites!

Pros: Don't charge extra for plant milk

Cons: Only plant milk available is soy

Vegan options can be a little scarce at times

It's great that Pret are now offering clearly labelled vegan options. I love the convenience of being able to stop for a coffee and sandwich without staring at the fridges for ages and find nothing suitable for vegans. I've popped in on a few occasions when there haven't been any vegan sandwiches so I think sometimes time of day makes a difference. It'd be brilliant if one day the vegetarian prets expand out of the big cities. In a place like Chester there's definitely a market for it.
Oh - and there's extra seating upstairs. In the past I thought they only had the downstairs area so had been put off going in. So that's good to know 😊

Pros: City centre location , Additional seating upstairs, Quick service

Cons: Sometimes the vegan options are sparse
