Serves meat, vegan options available. Formerly Baiporn. Menu includes vegetarian Thai food and Italian food. Menu in English and Thai, English is spoken. Relocated from Sri Phum Rd. Reported closed, Sep 2017.
Very nice small restaurant. Friendly service. Because my boyfriend is non-vegetarian it's sometimes hard to find a restaurant where we are both satisfied. La cucina- by Prego was great. He had good meat, i had An excellent veg pizza! Thin crispy crust, nice tomatosauce, good topping with eggplant, artichokes, Olives and mushrooms. Very good!
I ate here a few times August '08. Open daily from 8.30am to 10pm. So breakfast, lunch & dinner. It's known as Baiporn & also as Prego Italian restaurant. Quite an identity crisis!
As listed it is not a strict vegetarian eatery but is veg friendly. The menu has a couple of pages of vegetarian dishes & they are happy to substitute if you have special requests. I don't eat egg so I got them to drop the egg & add tofu to the pad thai. Interior is clean & classy in a simple way. Staff were friendly & efficient. Food was very good. They use a lot of organic produce. Green tea was also excellent. Prices reasonable. Highly recommended.
We ate at Baiporn many times while in Chiang Mai. What drew us in at first was its location, right around the corner from many guest houses. Even after we had moved away from the area, we would still travel back for dinner. The food is a wonderful retreat after months of backpacking fare, with a good variety of delicious, spot on food. The staff was always very friendly, and everyone very welcoming.
