Most authentic food I’ve had - Edit
Me and my partner drove from Stoke-on-Trent to try this place after seeing it on the Gordon Ramsey programme. We’d been wanting to go for a while but never got round to it so now that we had I was apprehensive that it would fall short of my expectations. I can confirm it absolutely did not! We shared the Methi Khandi Bhaji who h was essentially onion bhaji but it was the best onion Bhaji I’ve ever had. We also had the hara bara kebab which was a mashed pear and cauliflower kebab which I would absolutely recommend it was delicious, full of flavour. For the mains we had chole (chickpea curry) and masala dosa with rice and masala chips. It was all so authentically flavoured and I can not stress enough that this was the best Indian food I have ever tasted, and I’ve eaten a LOT of it. We read reviews where people said that “expensive mineral water” was pushed onto them, we were never offered this so this is seemingly false. The staff were all so lovely, food came fast and piping hot, the presentation was that of high end food, the atmosphere is nice and the decor is lovely. Some may see this as slightly more pricey than your average curry house, but it’s worth every penny. If you get chance to visit you should. I would do the long drive again 100%.

Amazing takeaway - Edit
It was our wedding anniversary last weekend and so we decided to treat ourselves with a celebration at home. We've always wanted to go to Prashad and seeing on Facebook they were doing contactless collection for takeout, decided now would be the ideal time to support them. All of the food was absolutely incredible, and the ordering and contactless collection service was flawless. We've recommended to our friends and will definitely be back. If we want to visit these places when this is all over, we *must* support them now to get through this time when they will have much less business.

Best Indian food I've ever had - Edit
The decor is gorgeous and feels very authentic and it's great that you're given a free vegan amuse-bouche to start the meal.
Read moreWe tried a big variety of the vegan options and I cant imagine a way they could be improved. Even the meat-eaters we went with said they didnt feel a need for any meat in the dishes at all.
The only problem was with the service, we were sat for 15 minutes before even being given a menu and then it was even longer for our drink orders to be taken. The waiters also forgot some of our drinks orders as well as two of our dishes and then were adamant we hadn't ordered them in the first place.
Was such a shame because other times I've been the service has been spot on, hoping it was just a one off!
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Very well priced , Delicious authentic food
Cons: Poor service

Incredible authentic Indian cuisine - Edit
The food here was absolutely phemoninal. I had the vegan thali and every single dish was incredible. The vegan options were indicated on the menu, and there was plenty to pick from. When our waiter found out we were vegan he was brilliant at explaining things to us and accommodating everything to be vegan options, we didn't even need to ask. Vegan beer was available too, and you could match up your drink to your meal so the flavours complimented each other. I can't wait to come back, just make sure you book in advance.

Amazing food - Edit
The food at Prashad may be the best I've ever tasted. The flavours and spices are absolutely perfect, making the most delicious meal that I can't recommend enough. After a number of visits and trying a number of dishes, everything has been amazingly tasty. There are plenty of vegan options that are clearly marked on the menu. They offer take away too, with a discount when purchased between specific times. The restaurant has a nice vibe too, and always smells lovely!

Incredible - Edit
Have visited a couple of teams and each visit has been exceptionally. Extremely flavoursome and staff always helpful. It is more expensive than your usual curry house but that without a doubt shows in flavour and overall experience.

Their vegan tasting menu is sublime. I wish all meat eaters would experience Prashad s food since they would be exposed to some of the most delicious cuisine available and might never go back to a non-vegetarian diet.

Gujurati v Panjabi? - Edit
Our favourite restaurant in Glasgow is Panjabi. It really is the yardstick for us. A birthday visit to Prashad meant over a 600 mile trip. Yes. Just for lunch.
Read moreThe restaurant was good, waiters absolutely fine. We have both Prashad's books and I was very happy with the food. My partner is well versed in Indian cooking and felt that the food was "just like one from the book".
Cost was double compared with Glasgow...
Pros: Only veg/vegan.
Cons: Mango lassi was thickened and a small portion., Why only pricey Norwegian water? Buxton spring isn, One poppadum each. Premium prices.

Excellent range of vegan options - Edit
We visited Prashad with (meat-eating) friends, who raved about Prashad. Having read reviews, I had extremely high expectations, as I know several excellent Indian restaurants in Leeds and Bradford - so expected Prashad to hold it's own. Perhaps I set it up too high, as I was disappointed by food that was not excpetional. In fact, my meal was average. I ordered a vegan thali and the chef didn't present a range of flavours, nor did they compliment each other well. It was boring, I got bored of eating it and I genuinely adore Indian cuisine. As I say, this may be due to my expectations being too high. The service was very good, there are many vegan options and I expect another dish may have been better for me, but I would not recommend the vegan thali as it was disappointing compared to other excellent Indian restaurants in the area.

lovely spicing and presentation. better than say the Drummond street vegetarian restaurants in Euston (London) but obviously this is at a price. has its place amongst the few top tier veggie restaurants in UK, although I personally prefer Lancrigg and pied a tierre.

You don't want to miss this place! - Edit
I'm a huge fan of Indian food so when I heard there was an Indian restaurant nearby that was also vegetarian, I jumped at the chance to go. I had high expectations and they were met and exceeded. Great décor inside, very nice for an Indian restaurant and the menu choice was extensive, varied and full of dishes I had tried but also never heard of before. The food was fantastic and I even took my leftovers home in a doggy bag as the portions were very generous. The price is just a touch more than I'd pick for a typical Indian meal but the class and atmosphere of the restaurant was of higher value anywhere. I'd go back a million times and I'd highly recommend to non-meat and meat eaters alike.

Prashad is new to the area, but an established restaurant. The staff were amazing friendly, the chef came out and asked how the meal was. Dishes are different, amazingly tasty, well presented. Honestly, steps above anywhere I've eaten before. Locally brewed beers are available also.

Over-rated - Edit
To be honest I think this place is well over-rated and can't understand why people rave about it. You can get far better curry other places in Bradford.
Read moreI went with a friend, the waiter brought us a huge bottle of mineral water which we didn't ask for. Apart from that service was slow and surly, and the food we had was virtually tasteless. Hardly spiced at all and well overpriced for what it was - I could have made better myself at home. We left most of our food and went home disappointed.
Give it a miss if you want good curry [edit by staff].
Cons: bad food, slow service, overrated

Outstanding curry house, even in Bradford! - Edit
We shared the vegan mixed starters - every one would get five stars! Just spicy enough to get me blowing my nose 3/4 of the way through (my barometer!)
Read moreI tried the massala dosa and it was gorgeous. There's a giant version on the menu, which must need a dustbin lid to serve it on.
I think over half the menu was vegan.
They're slowly getting over the Gordon Ramsey hype, but still really busy, especially early evening. Online booking was useful. We booked a few hours in advance on a Saturday evening and they still had free tables from about 9. They have a waiting room across the road - what the americans might call quaint ;-)
I used to live round the corner 20 years ago. If this place had been there back then, I'd have been a) 20 stone and b) severely overdrawn!
Pros: Top Indian food!, Good value, Huge vegan selection
Cons: Busy

The best Indian restaurant in the UK - official - Edit
According to Gordon Ramsey, Prashad is the best indian restaurant in the UK. I can confirm this as I go regularly. Not only is it the best but it's 100% veggie too with lots of vegan options. The dosa is out of this world. If you're any where near Bradford, go, you'll not be disapointed. Mind you, now that they've had such good publicity on national TV, you may need to book!!!!

Worth a visit - Edit
We visited prashad after seeing the Ad on the back of bus, we never knew it was there! The food is really excellent and very good value for money. Like other reviewers have said, they make real Indian food, the head chef is a woman and has won many awards, she came out and chatted to us whilst we ate. Food well balanced sices fresh ingredients. Superb! It does get very busy so booking is essential at the weekend.

Very interesting & tasty range of food - Edit
Very wide range of interesting, authentic and tasty food - not your average curry house! The only negatives to our visit were the lack of food suitable for young kids (mine can handle a tiny bit of chilli, but even the things that were recommended to us as being mild were a bit too spicy for their taste - however this is a problem encountered in many Indian restaurants, so Prashad is no worse than anywhere else in this respect!) and the lack of alcohol (again, this is not uncommon, but one member of our party was very disappointed!). Despite the fact that the kids couldn't handle the heat, it wasn't "blow-your-head-off" spicy, so I think most people except those with very delicate constitutions would be happy! Very good value for money, and friendly staff too.

The Pinnacle - Edit
Prashad really is the pinnacle of vegetarian and vegan Indian cuisine. They make dishes you simply can't get at 'regular' Indian restaurants. And even the stuff you can, like tarka dhal and roti, are far better than anywhere else in Bradford. And for anyone who has seen just how many Indian restaurants there are in Bradford, that's no mean feat!
Read moreThe staff are lovely, always remember me when I go in. The prices are slightly higher than the Bradford average, but all things are relative. You can still get a marvellous meal for under £6.
Pros: amazing food, lovely people, I live in Bradford
