Default cooking style *may* be in butter

My vegetarian guy got Pour Dog a few weeks ago and loved it. He said he didn’t realize that one order contained 2 sausages (which are Beyond Meat brand as stated in the other review here) do he had ordered 2 orders and ended up eating all 4 sausages!! Last night we were exhausted and didn’t want to cook so I placed 2 orders of the Annapolis Hunter sausage option with mushrooms, peppers, and onions, plus tater tots. When I got the food home I discovered they also come with Old Bay potato chips - if I would’ve realized that I wouldn’t have ordered tots! This time instead of 2 separate sausages on their own buns, they laid 2 sausages on one long bun which was mushy and unwieldy to pick up. Then I took a bite and it strongly tasted like dairy butter to me. I have been vegan for a long time and am super sensitive to the taste of dairy so I just couldn’t eat it. So once again my guy ended up with 4, ha ha… Also the sausages weren’t cooked very well - I can definitely cook them better at home! I wanted to support a restaurant that has vegan options and will reach out to them to suggest ensuring the vegan sausage options are cooked with olive oil. If you place an order with them, be sure to specify it and hopefully they’ll be accommodating…

Delicious sausage plate

There aren’t a lot of options but there are a couple. You can order any of the hot dog or sausage menu items but substitute for vegan sausage for a $2 up charge.

The place puts a big emphasis on charity and saving dogs. There are dog treats and bowls around.

I talked to the waitress and owner who were very receptive to feedback, since the place just opened recently. I was told the bread was likely not vegan (though not confirmed), which pretty much means you want to get one of the sausage plates instead of the hotdog options, which are on bread. There was some confusion about what vegan sausage is used but they confirmed it was Tofurky. I suggested they switch to Beyond if possible because it’s A: more delicious (in my opinion), but mostly B: it would cover gluten free vegans.

I ordered the Annapolis Hunter with the vegan sausage, which has sautéed mushrooms, peppers, and onions. It was delicious and I’d have it again. In my opinion that is really one of two options, the other being the Baltimore Blitz, which has green peppers, hot pepper relish, jalapeño, and hot mustard.

I will certainly come back again, but giving 3 stars due to the lack of options, no vegan bread, and I’m not big on Tofurky.

Beer selection was decent.

EDIT:
I went back and they changed their vegan sausage to be Beyond meat because they want to accommodate those that are gluten free, as well as vegan. Very cool that they listened. This is a restaurant that seems to really care about their customers opinions.
