Enjoyable Food, a bit pricey

The lunch/dinner menu is not large for vegetarians- a few pizzas, pastas, and salads, but my family enjoyed it all. The appetizer is focaccia bread with a cup of pickled cauliflower and chunks of cheese- yum! The pizzas are cooked in a brick oven on the premises and were tasty. The pastas are cooked to a perfect al dente tossed with various veggies and sauces. The special was caprese and they have a green salad with avocado, radish, and other veggies. If you're there for breakfast, they have yogurt with granola and fruit, french toast or pancakes with fruit, toast with jams and fruit, or eggs. They also have a variety of juices, coffee, wine, and cocktails. The service for us was fantastic- attentive, quick, and friendly. Perhaps the best part about the restaurant is the ambience. You can sit out on their stretch of private beach while enjoying your meal, gelato (delicious flavor!), or drinks and then stay for as long as you want! First come, first serve for beach seating which includes tables, lounge chairs, beds, and even a swing. You can also sit in the covered dining area and have a lovely view of the ocean. The pathway from the main road to the restaurant is decorated with hundreds of potted plants, garden art, knick knacks, and window frames. In the evening they light candles and it's just magical. I would highly recommend this place for a meal and day at the beach or a nice/romantic dinner.

Pros: Ambience, Service, Good flavor

Cons: Price

Great Italian food by the ocean

Posada Margherita offers great pasta and Italian food in a beautiful spot, just by the ocean. The pasta is prepared in the moment -you can order vegan-, also pizza, salads and focaccia. They keep the same menu since they opened 20 years ago. You can sit with your feet right on the sand and listen to the ocean. They also have a variety of wines and a beautiful way through plants to get to the restaurant.

Pros: Excellent food, Beautiful atmosphere, Very friendly staff

Cons: Cash only

Best restaurant in Tulum!

Gorgeous restaurant set right on the sand on one of the most beautiful beaches of the Tulum hotel strip. They make authentic italian food with fresh, most-organic, and local ingredients--and this attention to quality really shows in their food. Their menu features pasta and seafood options, and there is also a separate pizza, juice, cocktail, and other drinks menu.
They make your pasta (the actual pasta) when you order it, so be prepared to wait--it's very much worth it. Plus, while you wait they will bring you a complimentary plate with melting-your-mouth homemade focaccia. Be sure to specify vegan pasta. I love their pomodoro sauce--it's always bursting with flavor. But their pasta with broccoli, oyster mushrooms, and pine nuts is simply amazing. They also make a great vegan pizza marinara. It features just tomato sauce and oregano, but it's somehow incredibly flavorful and satisfying. Their garden salad is also a great option. It's vegan, but the array of veggies on it always changes, though the great vinaigrette makes it a delicious option every time. I also highly recommend their juices--gin lemon is my personal favorite along with the watermelon basil.
This place is simply amazing. The setting in combination with some of the best Italian food you will ever have make it a real must. I visit Tulum sometimes just to eat here. Remember that it's cash only, though.

Pros: Amazing food, Setting, Friendly staff

Cons: Cash only
