A Vegan Culinary Masterpiece at Portobello Road, Oshawa - Edit
🌱⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌱
Read moreLast night, my friends and I embarked on an extraordinary culinary journey at Portobello Road in Oshawa. We indulged in the six-course tasting menu, and the experience was nothing short of magical. This restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves to be celebrated.
👨🍳 Chef Extraordinaire:
Let's start with the genius behind it all – Chef Alex. His talent shines brilliantly, and it's evident in every bite. The way He crafts outstanding plant-based dishes is nothing short of remarkable. It's astonishing how he elevates locally sourced ingredients to create dishes that leave a lasting impression.
💚 Plant-Based Perfection:
I challenge anyone to say they don't like vegan food after dining here. Each course was an absolute delight for the senses. From the appetizers to the desserts, we were transported to a world of flavours and textures that defied expectations. The creativity in the kitchen is truly outstanding, and it's clear that this is not just a job for the chef; it's their passion.
👅 A Symphony for the Taste Buds:
Each course was a unique experience for the taste buds. The layers of flavours and the presentation were a testament to the chef's dedication to their craft. I found myself savouring each bite, not just because it was vegan, but because it was simply delicious. Good food transcends labels, and this restaurant embodies that philosophy.
🐾 No Harm to Animals:
An added bonus of dining at Portobello Road is that it causes no harm to animals. The commitment to a cruelty-free culinary experience is evident in every dish. It's a testament to the restaurant's ethical values and dedication to sustainability. Dining here is not just a feast for your palate; it's also a feast for your conscience.
Portobello Road is a place that truly redefines vegan dining. It's a haven for food lovers, regardless of their dietary preferences. The combination of remarkable culinary skill, locally sourced ingredients, and a commitment to a compassionate food system makes this restaurant stand out.
If you're seeking an unforgettable dining experience, make a reservation at Portobello Road. Your taste buds will thank you, and you'll leave with a newfound appreciation for the possibilities of vegan cuisine. I can't recommend it enough!

This restaurant is absolutely adorable! Very nice atmosphere inside. It's decorated with care, and I just loved the look of the chairs. The plates were a nice touch.
Read moreThe owner was so nice. The City Seltzer is a small business as well which is great.
The menu wasn't overboard, so it's easy to keep things tasty. The pasta is made fresh in house (first time I've ever had that at a restaurant).
I overheard conversation about a gluten free tasting menu, which they took seriously. Sounded like they were doing another event soon.
The food was delicious. We had 2 types of pasta & a pizza. We also had the sourdough to start. They grind the flour in house to make the bread, pasta and pizza dough.
We were in & out in just over an hour, including having a little chat.
We will be back next time we are in Oshawa for sure.
Pros: Small business supporting other small businesses, Great atmosphere, Fresh pasta
Cons: Parking is limited as it is downtown

Portobello Road Pizza for the WIN!!!!! - Edit
I discovered Portobello Road a couple of years ago when they were just starting out and offered prepared meals to go and I knew back then that they would do well….but when they decided to include pizza in their repertoire I could never have guessed how mind-blowingly amazing it would be. I literally dream about their pizza. The flavours are off the chart and the texture is sheer perfection (wood fired without it being too crispy). The home made vegan cheese topping is the best I have ever had. Their crust is soft without it being too doughie. And their fermented sourdough base makes it so easy to eat, even with a gluten sensitivity.
Read moreIf you have not tried their pizza I suggest you aim your car towards Oshawa and get their today!!! You will not be disappointed…might just begin a regular visit to this magical place.
They offer dine-in, take-out, prepared meals and now a wonderful Tasting Menu experience. The owners Lindsay & Alex are a dynamic duo who are surely destined for more epic vegan adventures, and I, for one, will be following them along the way.
Pros: Fully vegan restaurant, Locally sourced and seasonal ingredients , Great location

I picked up a couple of meals to go at a gift shop Unique Town Boutique in Whitby because Portobello itself isn't open all that often. That was neat! They also had some vegan chocolate bars at the gift shop.
