The Green Bandito Burrito - Edit
The service is great and the food is amazing. You will however have to wait a little bit for your food to be made fresh. So word of the wise, don't go here starving. Other than that, the wait is TOTALLY worth it.

Simply delicious - Edit
We had a family Saturday brunch while me and my husband were visiting from KY. I am the only vegan but, got the family yo give it a try. Strawberry French toast was delicious. My husband had the breakfast burrito with eggs (he is not vegan) and loved it. I had the Athena favorite salad and it was huge, took half home but, it has so much variety, I would order it again. The pesto, hummus, buffalo cauliflower and spinach artichoke dip were all big hits. I thought the pancakes were delicious too. My favorite items were some of the baked good we took to go, raspberry cheesecake, chocolate brownie mouse cake, sugar birthday cake and a lemon truffle... all were vegan and a big hit later in the day as a sweet treat. Will return

Great variety - Edit
I liked this place. It had a great variety of food. It is definitely more of a health food vegan place, so keep that in mind. They have several raw items and label things as gluten or soy free. The location is cute and the staff were very friendly. I had the mac n cheese and my brother had the Athena salad as a wrap. We also had the buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer. All were good. I would come here again.

Expensive, but good! - Edit
I’ve been here and tried the breakfast burrito, the rocket fuel smoothie, the root veggie chips with bbq, and Athena’s favorite in a wrap. I really liked the breakfast burrito, and if spicy is your thing you’ll really go for this one. It was a great savory breakfast option and very filling. It comes with a side of chips too, which they did not mention on the menu.
Read moreWhen I got Athena’s favorite, it usually comes with a side of potato salad or a garden salad. I subbed that out since I wanted to try their root veggie chips. I liked the wrap, but it can be pretty salty if they put a lot of olives in it. I would opt out of those next time. The hummus was decent and the falafel was excellent. Very flavorful, which is why the olives felt a bit overkill. It went really nicely with the root veggie chips and sauce. The chips are not crispy though, so don’t expect “fries”, they are definitely baked and seasoned. I actually preferred them this way over the deep fried kind.
Their rocket fuel smoothie is excellent too. Not too chocolatey, and a perfect dessert option to a meal. I also have to say I really enjoyed the flavor of the wrap itself. It had a nice balance with both the burrito and the falafel. My only dislikes about this place are the prices and also the root veggie chips were kinda oily. It’s definitely a splurge to come here and spend 10-12 just for a smoothie. I would absolutely come back to try their other options.
Update 11/10
Biscuits and gravy are an absolute must! I’ve tried the biscuits and gravy at every single vegan place and Pom has the winning dish. The gravy is very rich, the biscuits themselves are very dense, slightly flaky, buttery, and not too wet or dry, just overall excellent. The sausage I’m thinking is not house made, but it’s also very savory and compliments the biscuit and gravy.
I have also tried the pumpkin French toast, the banana bread French toast, the hash, the tofu scramble, the chocolate cherry bomb, the tempeh bacon, the burger, and the green smoothie as a bowl.
Both French toasts are good, but can be very overly rich if you don’t balance it with something else.
The hash was actually really good and gave the tofu scramble a much needed boost. The scramble itself needed more flavor, salt, and seasoning, and was also cold by the time it got to my table. :/
The chocolate cherry bomb is my favorite smoothie here. It’s very sweet, but balanced. Tempeh bacon is very good, and smoothie bowl was good too.
Pros: All dishes are vegan , Good service, Good food with great flavor
Cons: Very very expensive

Chandler's Best Vegan Spot! - Edit
This tucked away yet very popular vegan cafe is a Chandler favorite for many. The staff are responsive and largely knowledgeable about the vegan culinary lifestyle. They should expand a tad?? Good place with very good stuff.
Read morePros: solid vegan menu - eggs on the menu in spots, menu is stable - consistent - new items now & then, location is central / popular following

We went there based on a suggestion from a friend in a facebook group (meal mentor - check out getmealplans.com!). Anyway, I got the French toast with strawberries and my husband got the Pom platter. He also got a drip coffee with the cashew/almond milk creamer and raw sugar. I tasted the coffee. It wasn't terribly sweet but I'm sure you could, of course, add more sugar at it would've been fine! He's not a sweets person anyway. We both cleaned our plates and would highly recommend this place. It had so many extra sweets we are planning to go back and try too. It was also a really cool ambiance as well.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this restaurant before! It's hands down my favorite spot. It's quite a drive for me but after I went for the first time about six months ago I've been back several times.
Read moreThe food is so, so good - I have brought several non-vegan family members and thy have absolutely love it. In fact, my mom says it's her favorite restaurant now! I got the tu-nut melt sandwich yesterday and it was absolutely perfect. We almost always get the nachos for an appetizer. I've only been for brunch once, and the biscuits and gravy I got were perfect. The desserts are always great too - I have ordered the raw brownie almost every time, and usually buy a cupcake to take home with me.
The service has always been lovely as well.

Their sauces are so exquisite. Desserts are off the charts!! Order the raw Tacos Vivos!!! So fresh, everything organic, and if you message them on Facebook or go in person and ask to be in the Pom Love texting club you get daily free coupons. They gave us a certificate for free pastries on Mother's Day. And free pomegranate chocolate cake on your birthday! What's not to love. My favorite restaurant in Phoenix!!

Great service, great area, even better food. - Edit
Updated Nov 2016: While we still love the Pomegranate Cafe, great desserts, great atmosphere and staff, and my partner still loves the wraps she gets, and could eat here multiple times per week, the use of eggs and cheese on the brunch menus almost made us hurl. While we understand being diverse enough to be profitable is a real challenge, the odors created by cooking such items was extremely off-putting.
Read moreWe'll still go back, but it won't be during those brunch offerings.
Wonderful staff, pleasant location, fantastic food all three times we have visited so far, and great and creative desserts. While their smoothies aren't the greatest vegan smoothies I have ever had, that's a small gripe.
We have tried a few different dishes, from the various o burgers and wraps, and all of those were really good. Great sauces and sides, although the sides perhaps are not always roasted properly (root vegetables), they were still good.
Pros: Great food, Great atmosphere, Great staff
Cons: Not in downtown Phoenix, Smoothies not the greatest, Serves eggs and cheese

Exciting Menu - Far Away - Edit
Written on the menu in all caps "EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IN VEGAN", then directly under it: "we offer farm fresh eggs and organic cheese on some items". Underneath those excerpts you will find "WE CARE ABOUT THE EARTH" written at the bottom...
Read moreWhat is the point there? Please make the leap and go full vegan if you are even going to write that on your menu. Very put off by that being stated in the same sentence. I would be more willing to make the long trek to south valley if they would at least lower the prices.

The Gila Monster! - Edit
UPDATE: It had been a couple of years, but I finally returned after being enticed by their summer 2016 menu, which includes hush puppies. Jamaican Curry Wedges, a TuNut Sandwich, and the POM Banana Split, amongst much more. The Tu-Nut Sandwich is a deliciously healthy option. It comes with potato salad, which is their seasonal side for the summer. The banana split was pretty yummy, but the ice cream seemed frost bitten and the brownie had nuts. Luckily, I'm not allergic, but it needs to be mentioned/noted on the menu. The Gila Monster Nachos were the winner. A HUGE portion and it was very flavorful. Excellent dish. I suggest going during happy hour to get it for $8 instead of the normal $12 price tag. They are even pricier nowadays, with entrees ranging from $12-$15! It's a bit ridiculous, but the food is fresh, mostly organic, and of high quality. We also had great service experience this time, so it appears that customer complaints are being heard.

1st visit: ordered the French Toast w/ a side of tempeh bacon. (Very tasty; very good) Also got the BLT (no T for me) w/ extra aioli sauce (b/c when you find vegan aioli you need/want more) for later. This was so flavorful, fresh, and delicious. It's cut in half, and it is enough to either share or save the 2nd 1/2 for later (or not). Definitely something I'd recommend. Also got a piece of split strawberry cake. Very good! The lady who helped me was so nice and friendly. I left with a smile on my face.
2nd visit didn't go as great and I thought I'd never go back... However, Cassie rectified the situation and all is well. Got the California Love wrap and it was very good. Again, huge wrap, so I had enough for lunch the next day. Had a cupcake. It was ok. I personally like my cupcakes much more moist, but the icing was delish. You're looking at an average of about $10 per dish. Not cheap, but not the most expensive I've seen either. There are seats inside and outside as well. Free wifi. Plenty of parking. Check the hours before heading out b/c they are not open late. If you're traveling here for the first time and you come from I-10, once you're on Chandler and you pass 44th St, start looking to your left for an Arby's and McDonald's; you'll want to turn left into the strip mall entry by McDonalds. Go straight, pass the Trader Joe's, and Pomegranate is a couple doors down on the left.
Pros: Mostly vegan and organic, Large portions!, Free wifi
Cons: Price

Healthy and Tasty - Edit
This is probably my favorite place to eat in the valley because they offer food that's a perfect blend of tasty and healthy. And the menus are really creative and varied.
Read moreI think the following help set the restaurant apart:
• baked goods/dessert
• fresh juices
• raw/vegan/organic/local/gluten-free/non-GMO/vegetarian offerings
• catering
• lots of specials/seasonal
Other restaurants may look the same on paper, but Pomegranate Cafe really does all of these things well.
They've expanded in their Chandler location a couple of times, but I hope they open a northern location next!
Pros: Tasty and healthy, Prepared with care, Laidback atmosphere
Cons: Sometimes you have to wait
