Disappointed oily tasting - Edit
I was so excited to try my local vegan ice cream spot. I've tried many places and brands and had high hopes. I purchased the mint chocolate chip ice cream and it had a weird oily after taste. To the point where I had to throw it out. Maybe they add coconut oil to their batches but it just missed the mark. It was not smooth or creamy more like an oily sorbet. Maybe I got a bad batch? It was such a pricey tub of ice cream that I don't want to risk trying it again.

Delicious house-made vegan ice cream and more - Edit
Their house-made line of plant-based ice cream is delicious. Options at the walk-up window in Thornbury include cones, cups, 450 ml tubs, sundaes and floats. The Thornbury walk-up window closes for the winter.
Read moreThe Meaford location, open year-round, has all that and more. Plant-based flavours can be bought in 500-ml and 1-l tubs in-store in Meaford and at some area health food/local food stores. In Meaford they have a vegan frozen Pizza (veggies, no cheese), and a vegan cookie, and a very tasty granola bar.

Best vegan ice cream in the area - Edit
They even develop vegan brownies, cookies, and cake to put in relevant ice cream flavours. Strongly recommend. The Thornbury location gives larger portions than the Meaford location. They also have vegan ice cream sandwiches.

This summer I tried their blue lavender, pumpkin spice, matcha green tea and ginger flavoured ice creams. Always lots of New and delicious vegan choices!
