Good Polynesian luau experience but lacked the vegan friendliness

Great cultural experience for the multiple islands; they really do put on great shows, they’re full of knowledge, can tell a lot of effort was put into the ambience of the grounds, but be prepared for a very long day of u sty for it. Fun filled if u that’s what u make of it.

We did an upgraded experience with tour guide and reserved front rows etc. even with making a reservation for plant based at the luau, they don’t keep track anyway. The awesome pineapple drink they bring around has dairy in it-why!?😫 so we were accommodated with a mango smoothie which was actually quite awesome. The buffet was actually clearly marked with vegan/vegetarian friendly dishes which I was pleasantly surprised and thankful for. There’s also a QR code at the table to inform u of whatever dietary requirements/discretions u have. There are no vegan desserts and to include no dole whip like this post had said-you’ll have to find that at the sweet shop outside the center. I was quite annoyed that the employee at the gelato station didn’t know her job and lacked the knowledge if the gelato had dairy in it or not. So yeah. No dessert.

Dessert can be found at the marketplace still on site but outside the Polynesian center, at Tutu’s sweet shop-they have Dole whip! Yum.

Overall, it’s nice that a traditional pig roasted luau would have any vegan options at all. So it’s nice that they are accommodating to all diets.

Fabulous, simply fabulous!

We went in November 2024 and felt this place was a MUST DO! Three of the villages had food samples (all were vegan): poi, breadfruit in coconut milk, and coconut bread. The luau had vegan items clearly marked and also offered a specialty allergy menu. The tofu poke was so fun!!! Make sure to ask for a mango smoothie instead of the piña colada when they bring the giant pineapple drink (piña colada has dairy).

Pros: Vegan food samples at the villages, Clearly marked vegan items on the menu, Selection of vegan items

Labeled Vegan Options

There were many vegan options available, but few proteins (tofu and chickpeas only). Nothing special or super flavorful, but enough to be full.

Options include: Quinoa, bok choy, brocolini, fruit, salad bar, white rice, brown rice, pine apple fried rice, roasted potatoes, fries, mushroom dishes, ratatouille, vegan pineapple soft serve sorbet

Quite surprised

After touring the Polynesian culture center, you work up quite the appetite.
It’s a relief that you walk in and you get a good atmosphere, and everything is specified as vegan, vegetarian, soy-free, etc. I will say- there is quite the variety- and you may say it’s just going to be very healthy all across- and I would agree. And I believe it’s fair for what it’s going for. You won’t find imitation meats or anything like that- but I was glad to see tasteful foods from the sautéed carrots, the pancit, and other potato/rice/quinoa/vegetable options. I was personally delighted and would recommend with the experience

Pros: Live music, Variety and specifications , Simplicity

Cons: No meat alternatives (but that’s ok as specified)

Really Unique and Yummy Buffet Experience

The whole Polynesian Cultural Center experience was amazing and one to remember!!! Included in the package we purchased as an all-you-can-eat dinner which to my surprise had lots of vegan friendly options! They were very kind in explaining what I could and couldn’t eat and provided me with a list although it mentions on the dishes what is and isn’t vegan friendly! Be mindful that the drink that comes with your all you can eat in the pineapple is not vegan but they have a vegan alternative, just ask for it! They will still provide it to you in a pineapple.

You get to watch live music and performances about culture and history. It was incredible and definitely worth the price for a once in a lifetime experience!

Pros: So much to see, Lots of buffet food options, Yummy Hawaiian food

Cons: Pricy, Not everything is vegan

Delicious food

Was very surprised at how many options I had being vegan and gluten free. They have a QR code available at the table to see all the allergy menus. Items on the buffet are marked vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free.
