Personally wouldn't recommend - Edit
I was pleased to see the "Vegans Welcome" sign outside. However, the menu did not label any vegan items. This required me to ask the staff for vegan options, but unfortunately, the descriptions provided were not detailed enough to make an informed choice. Especially for savoury items.
Read moreThe dish I eventually chose (gojuchang beans) turned out to be a non-vegan dish with all non-vegan items removed, resulting in a much smaller portion. I paid €15.50 for a very small portion of beans and a single slice of bread, which left me still feeling hungry.
Really not good enough in my opinion when you promote being vegan friendly so visibly.

Misleading - Edit
The space is nice, and the staff friendly, however we went in because it says "vegans welcome" in big letters outside but once seated we realised there was actually only 2 savoury vegan options, a falafel wrap and a falafel salad. As you all know falafel is so predictable it's become a hallmark of a place where plant-based options are an after-thought and my partner and I are pretty sick of it unless it's from an actual falafel shop. Some dishes we were told could be made vegan if the eggs and the cheese were removed, so half the dish for the same money, another classic.
Read moreWe chose the falafel wraps, which were actually tasty but the portion was very small. We were also surprised to read at the bottom of the menu there's an additional charge to make items vegan (we're assuming its for plant milk) which feels like another out of date practice.

Just no - Edit
The window said "vegans welcome" and the shelves were stacked with plant milk, so I was drawn into the place. I could not find any vegan options on the menu, so I asked the waitress and she told me that the vegan pancakes exist and are also gluten free. I then got pancakes covered in white chocolate drops that was not vegan (I asked). Plus, there was a 5cm long black hair between the pancakes. Ew! They were very sorry and offered to bring me new pancakes, but I had lost my appetite, obviously. At least I did not have to pay for the pancakes, however, I would not go there again.

Amazing pancakes! - Edit
Came here for breakfast on our last morning in Dublin. We both had the protein pancakes. I had the Post Workout and my husband had the Bueno.
Read moreThe services was pretty quick and the food was banging. I've never had pancakes quite like them - they had a really great texture (I guess that's the protein?)!!

Staff not knowledgable - Edit
There were only actually 2 vegan options. They did offer two other things they could change on the menu but they were taking everything off the plate and still charging you full price. Also quite rude and no time for you. Wouldn’t go back.

Afternoon tea - Edit
Ordered vegan Afternoon Tea for two. Lovely place with the friendliest crew running it. Fab sandwiches and sweets. A bit confusing with one avocado toast and one hazelnut toast, there is no way you split them between two without making a mess. Why not make two (smaller) of each? As much tea and coffee as we’d like was included. The sweets included two different sorbets, one banoffee pie to live for, a brownie and one choc cheesecake. Again, charing is caring - but make them snaller and give us one each! Having said all that. I miss scones, but everything was really good and I would def recommend it!

Yummy vegan pancakes - Edit
Found the menu a bit confusing at first since there are no suggested options but rather all pancakes are fully customizable. They say to allow for 20 minutes for vegan pancakes but mine arrived much quicker and we're delicious. Will definitely come back!

Delicious pancakes but server could not tell me what was vegan - Edit
I was slightly disappointed here, yes they have vegan options, salads and breakfast stuff but I'd gone in for the pancakes. There were allergies noted on all the items on the menu but doesn't necessarily mean vegan so I asked which were vegan. They had to go ask someone and said 'vegans usually have fruit and maple syrup'
Read moreWasn't very helpful considering the front window says 'vegans welcome' you'd think they would know if the dark chocolate chips were vegan, there were also Oreos and biscoff sauce etc.
Saying all that I did have fruit and maple syrup and it was all delicious. I didn't have biscoff as it was like €2.50 on top of the pancakes that were already €12.
Pros: Some vegan options , Sign saying 'vegans welcome'
Cons: Staff need more training in what is vegan, Expensive

Mmmmmm, vegan pancakes... - Edit
I have been here twice. The first time I had avo toast which was okay. The second time, I had vegan pancakes, which were great. I recommend raspberry, crumbled digestives, and maple syrup as toppings: sweet, but not too sweet, neither dry nor gooey, but in the just right, Goldilocks zone. Highly recommended.

Lovely vegan pancakes, and friendly staff. The avocado toast can be veganized, and tasted fairly good (but the portion can ba a bit small if you're really hungry). That being said, you really should go for the pancakes.

Came here for vegan pancakes a few times and they never disappoint!
Read moreI wish there were more vegan toppings available, the only vegan options are very sweet and so I can never finish the pancakes as it all becomes quite sickly.
Reasonably priced at €11
Also had a few coffees here which were lovely, a good selection of non-dairy milks.

Great pancakes - not so great avo toast - Edit
I've been here a good few times and they're the only place I know in Dublin that does vegan pancakes, which is my go-to - they're a little on the dry side but I feel like the toppings make up for it. I went with my partner today and got them again and thoroughly enjoyed them, but my partner wanted to try the avo toast and they gave him only one slice with very watery blended avocado. He said it seemed like it was unripe and they used lemon juice to compensate. This costs €12 which is VERY expensive for what he got. He also got the oreo hot chocolate which I tried, and it seemed exactly the same as the normal hot chocolate, but it was extremely weak tasting, I think that cost €4 or something as well.
Read moreOverall I'd recommend it if you're looking for pancakes but not the other breakfasts, I don't think there are any other vegan options than the avo toast anyway.
Pros: Only place in Dublin for vegan pancakes, Great portion size for pancakes, Good selection of pancake toppings
Cons: Watery blended avo on the avo toast, Very expensive, Weak/watery hot chocolate

Great for all diets - Edit
I’ve been to this location twice now and everyone I’ve gone with has been very impressed. The food can sometimes take a while but it’s well worth the wait. I got the vegan burger last time and it was heaven, and vegan chocolate pancakes the other time (which take a while).
Read moreEdit January 2022: I hadn’t been to Pog in a little over two years and finally made it back this month. I ordered the vegan pancakes, and while they didn’t take nearly as long to make as they used to, the quality wasn’t great. The pancakes were tough to cut through (saw through) with a knife and were so crispy they would barely fold. They were dry and pretty tasteless. I’m hoping it’s not a permanent recipe issue and they do go back to the way they were before, but I won’t be going back for a while because I was very disappointed.

Had breakfast here and ordered vegan pancakes with almond cream, raspberries and blueberries together with a matcha latte.

Hearty vegan breakfasts - Edit
Lets face it, there's nothing quite like pancakes for breakfast. Make that loaded pancakes topped with oreos and fruit and it all gets even better. I will admit to some food envy when my wife ordered this. Still, I got to enjoy a fancy beans on toast, an equally awesome and classic dish. Large, filling portions for a reasonable price served with a smile is as good as it gets.
