Not great, not bad

This Mexican bar and restaurant would be forgettable in most cities. Altoona, PA, has such sparse vegan options that it stands out among the (lack of) competition.

The menu has a vegetarian section listing 4 lacto-vegetarian entrees. These items contain dairy, but can be made vegan upon request. Staff are extremely understanding and helpful. Wait times are very short.

All diners are offered complimentary chips and salsa, which are vegan.

Pros: Clearly labeled vegetarian options, Very helpful staff

Cons: Relatively few vegetarian or vegan entrees, No entrees vegan by default

Secret menu vegan burrito is the bomb

Wow! This thing is huge and so good. Service is fast and friendly as well.

So delicious

Plaza Azteca has a vegan and vegetarian section on the menu and every time I come to eat I order the table side guacamole and the vegan bowl. It is wonderful to have a fully vegan option that honestly is crave worthy! They always make sure that I have extra tortilla chips to take home with my leftover guacamole. Plus the owner and staff are incredibly friendly! This is an area that has zero fully vegan restaurants so when I come to Altoona I always eat here and am completely satiated and happy with their vegan options.

Pros: Complex flavours in their vegan options, Fresh vegetables , Super friendly staff

Cons: There could always be more vegan options.
