Incredible! - Edit
Wow wow wow! We booked in May to eat in October but it was definitely worth the wait!
Read moreThe restaurant itself is gorgeous, very intimate and cosy. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. They even gave my mum a birthday card which was a lovely touch.
The food is insane. Every dish is so full of flavour and incredibly delicious. I think my favourite was the mushroom - and I’m someone who doesn’t normally like mushrooms!
Kirk (head chef) came out at the end to chat and thank us for dining which was lovely.
Would definitely recommend coming here - if you can get a booking that is!

Finest vegan restaurant I have ever eaten at - Edit
The food is just magical. We opted for the 7 course menu (£75). The menu contains some of the winning dishes from the Great British Menu, and each dish was just so flavoursome, creative and well crafted.
Read moreAll the ingredients are fresh, innovative and well sourced. We were worried of still being hungry afterwards, but that was definitely not the case.
We both had an alcohol-free drink and again, it was not your run-of-the-mill soda, but a sophisticated and grown-up blend.
We're not used to these kinds of restaurants and were worried of making a faux-pas, but the staff was brilliant at giving information and answered any questions we coukd have had before they even came up.
It's a bit on the expensive side and needs to be booked month in advance, but really worth every penny.
Pros: The Feast of Farah lasagna, The staff were so lovely and attentive , The atmosphere and decor (the bathroom sink!)
Cons: Only that we cannot go back sooner! 😂

Another vegan heaven! - Edit
I had been very impressed by Kirk Haworth's food when I visited his Plates pop up restaurant at Untitled in Dalston 2 years ago, so I was quite excited about his new permanent restaurant.
Read moreThis second visit didn't disappoint! Everything is plant-based, gluten free and refined sugar free, but it certainly isn't free of flavours and creativity! Ingredients are delicately combined to maximise an explosion of sensations in your mouth.
I find it hard to decide which dish was my favourite, but the barbecued mushroom with mole and the herbaceous ice-cream were particularly delicious...
Pros: Exquisite food, Reasonably priced for the quality , Nice staff and venue

Incredible vegan fine dining experience - Edit
Had the 7 course tasting menu with non-alcoholic pairings, and what a fantastic experience it was. It's pricey of course (£90 for the tasting menu, £40 for the pairing), but for a special treat or one-off experience it's so very worth it. I had booked this reservation 3 months in advance, but I was told by the waitress that they do keep some limited space for walk-ins!
Read moreThe attention to detail in every dish is stunning, as is the quality of the ingredients and care that goes into sourcing them. Absolute standout dishes were definitely the laminated sourdough with spirulina butter, the lasagne, and oh my God the raw cacao gateaux almost made me cry. Pacing of the dishes was perfect, we were never sat waiting an excessive time, and everything was the perfect temperature when served (freshly baked laminated sourdough buns smelled incredible!).
The ambience is cosy but refined, again reflecting an attention to detail seen throughout the menu. The lights are dimmed for the evening sittings, and tables lit by candlelight. The venue is small, but not overcrowded, and chilled out beats play in the background. The little touches from the petal-shaped lampshades to the handmade ceramic crockery tie together a sense that a lot of care and love has gone into this place.
I was happy to see the restaurant packed and buzzing (and indeed it's booked out til Feb 2025!), seeing people being introduced to the incredible flavours and experiences that are possible with plant based cuisine. Like Alexis Gauthier, Kirk Haworth is doing a real service to veganism by demonstrating that high quality dining does not necessitate suffering, and showcasing the incredible diversity of flavour possible with creativity and flair!
Pros: Laminated bread, lasagne, gateau... All of it tbh, Ambience

East is sleek - Edit
The space (especially the outside Japanese garden) is achingly cool. The cocktails are.... nothing you've seen before. The nibbles are irresistible. As for the taste? As accomplished as their design. Creative, balanced, splendidly executed. I wish the aubergine was not overshadowed by the basil in the tomato toast but this is a personal gripe. Will be returning for a deep dive into the 5 course menu.
